I have an stv680 camera/webcam, if I try to import some photo I receive a lot of errors and don't get anything. Error vary if kernel module stv680 is loaded or not.

With this camera I can see if there are files on it, and get camera information, but I can't download the photo it contains...

I used both F-Spot and gphoto2 from command line.

I have that problem too with debian lenny and gphoto2 2.4.2 on ubuntu intrepid.

-L works (after unmounting in gnome/nautilus, possibly unloading stv680.ko), but -P always fails with either "Error reading from the port" or "Unknown Error"

    Device:
Bus 004 Device 018: ID 0553:0202 STMicroelectronics Imaging Division (VLSI Vision) Aiptek PenCam 1
    (actually it's a Medion MD-something)

But as I remember that a long time ago I successfully used that cam with gphoto2 i randomly grabbed the old tagged version 2.2.0 from svn, struggled a bit to get it compiled, and with that version it works pretty much perfectly.
