Especially when running under Windows, it's all too possible for the
Makefiles to pick the wrong version of a command (especially find).

    These are the environment/command-line variables you can define:
    CHMOD, CP, ECHO, EXIT, GNATCHOP, GREP, JAVA, MKDIR, RM, SED,
    TRUE
    and, last but not least, FIND (can't think how I missed this one, since it
    was the reason for the change in the first place).
