Bot Detection and Mitigation

cside is a cutting-edge client-side security solution designed to protect organizations from the growing threat of browser-based attacks. Unlike traditional security tools that rely solely on threat feed intelligence, cside employs a fully autonomous detection system that uses historical context and AI to analyze the behavior of third-party scripts. This proactive approach allows cside to identify and block potential threats before they can reach your users, ensuring robust protection against zero-day vulnerabilities and supply chain attacks. With its unique multi-layer solution, cside offers unparalleled defense for client-side applications, making it an essential tool for any organization looking to safeguard their web presence.

Client-Side Protection

100 % session coverage, DOM-level diffing, conditional threat detection (geo/time/user cohort). c/side sits in the path of every third-party request, fetches the actual JavaScript, and inspects it in real time. So malicious code is blocked before the browser can execute a single line.

Compliance

VikingCloud’s independent assessment confirms that, when properly configured, cside fulfills these requirements by continuously analyzing integrity and, if necessary, blocking scripts in real-time. The cside platform offers a dedicated PCI DSS dashboard that explicitly covers insights into 6.4.3 and 11.6.1 requirements.

"They enjoy fighting fraud and it shows"

    Posted 2026-05-26

Pros: Highly engaged team, constantly looking to improve their product, very susceptible to feedback, very fast. Honestly, great experience

Cons: They are a relatively early-stage company and every now and then that means there's a feature that's lacking. Their product is already way better than all the other stuff that I've used especially given they use AI and the competitors haven't really fully adopted it yet from the ground up. That doesn't really make a difference: their product is better.

Overall: Strongly recommend using their product for signup fraud. They’re still relatively early stage, so occasionally there are features that aren’t fully built out yet. That said, their AI-first approach already puts them ahead of most competitors I’ve used.

"One of their first customers, 2 year in review"

    Posted 2026-05-26

Pros: - We signed up with them for script monitoring, which it did.
    - We were probably one of their first customers
    - Their team was very hungry and fast at helping. Very clearly wanted to build the best product.
    - Our PCI assessment went smoothly
    - Script observability appeared way more through than other tools I tried
    - We recently started using their product for account take-over risk. And it has caught a lot of weird behaviors of users.

Cons: - When they grew quickly, the dashboard felt a little slow but that has been fixed since (I guess this is normal)

Overall: I don't just buy a product, I'm under pressure to reduce my vendor list, so I buy a team. The cside team has been a powerful extension of our security organization. Don't think twice.

"The Security Layer I Didn't Know I Was Missing"

    Posted 2026-05-14

Pros: Full visibility into what's running, seeing every script, and where it comes from, what it's doing, and whether it's compliant or risky. The hybrid proxy intercepts scripts before they reach the browser. I achieve 100% session visibility with zero added latency, deployed via a single script tag. It also covers compliance well, helping me meet PCI DSS 4.0.1, DORA, and GDPR requirements without worrying about performance.

Cons: It can feel slightly overwhelming due to the sheer volume of data presented.

Overall: cside has genuinely changed how I think about website security. I have complete visibility, and that peace of mind alone is worth it. The fact that it deploys with a single script tag and doesn't touch performance made it a no brainer. For compliance, it's taken a lot of the manual headache away, especially around PCI DSS. There's a lot of data to dig through, but once it clicks, it's hard to imagine going back to flying blind. If you're running anything where security and compliance actually matter, I'd strongly recommend giving it a look.

"cside helped me fingerprint NK users"

    Posted 2026-05-14

    Pros: - easy to use
    - literally no alternatives for most of their products
    - amazing support and product updates

Cons: - I wish they would expand to more products, we need product opinion and support like this everywhere

Overall: Cside just worked amazing, had a slight issue with some of the client side fingerprinting and their support team picked up and resolved the ticket the same day. I wish all of my sec products were by companies like this.

    "Visibility solved"

    Posted 2026-05-14

Pros: I use cside to see what third-party scripts are running on my website. cside's free tier was easy to deploy, just drop in three lines of code and you’re live. Within seconds of deployment, the dashboard started surfacing telemetry on third-party JavaScript: origin domains, initiating scripts, sync vs async loading, even full script contents.

Cons: The free version feels like a teaser really. E.g. Script blocking is in the free tier; automated and hybrid CSP versions aren't.

Overall: Client-side security is often overlooked, but the awareness is growing (compliance etc.) When my site becomes more complex, I would want all the features for peace of mind. Visibility into what is loading and where it's coming from is step one.

"The Missing Link in Client-Side Security"

    Posted 2026-05-14

Pros: 1. Eliminates Third-Party Blind Spots
Traditional Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) only see traffic at the server level. c/side provides real-time visibility into what scripts are actually doing on the client side, effectively neutralizing "Magecart-style" attacks where hackers inject malicious code into trusted third-party plugins.
    2. High Performance with Zero Latency
One of the biggest hurdles for security tools is website speed. c/side uses a sophisticated proxy architecture that inspects scripts without slowing down the page load, ensuring that security doesn't come at the cost of user experience or SEO.
    3. Simplified Compliance (PCI DSS 4.0)
New financial regulations (like PCI DSS 4.0.1) now strictly require companies to manage and authorize all scripts on payment pages. c/side automates this entire process, making it an "easy button" for compliance teams and preventing heavy fines.

    Cons: Requires Strategic Integration
While the platform is easy to deploy, it represents an additional layer in the security stack.
might feel like an extra operational task, but the security benefits are substantial.

Overall: C/side is a must-have for e-commerce platforms and SaaS companies that handle sensitive user data. It fills a critical gap in the modern security landscape with a solution that is both powerful and developer-friendly.

Pros: We're a small team and looking for a tool that will help us with the new PCI compliance requirements on our nonprofit website. c/side's product was exactly what we were looking for at a fraction of the price that other competitors were offering. The UI is very easy to use and their solution is flexible for various different types of use cases. Our experience with support has also been great, as the team has been proactive in helping us with various configuration steps and answering questions.

Cons: I've had a hiccup or two in Firefox, but it worked when I used Chrome.

Overall: I'm glad we found their product and it's helped us in meeting PCI compliance goals that previously seemed a bit overwhelming.

"Critical visibility for our front-end security"

    Posted 2025-07-24

Pros: c/side gives us real-time monitoring and forensic-level insight into third-party scripts, something we didn’t have before. It’s been a game changer for our security posture and compliance planning. The detection engine is smart, autonomous, and doesn’t require constant tuning or manual rule updates. We also saw slight performance improvements on script load times, which was an unexpected bonus

Cons: The platform leans technical, which is fine for our team, but some views took a bit of getting used to

Overall: c/side has quickly become essential for our security and engineering teams. The visibility it gives us into third-party scripts is something we didn’t realize we were missing until we had it. The team behind it clearly knows the space and has been helpful anytime we had questions. Highly recommend, especially for teams navigating PCI compliance or looking to tighten up front-end security.

    "I feel safe!"

    Posted 2025-07-24

Pros: I think that the compliance tools for regulations are very well integrated, and the dashboard shows script changes with helpful AI explanations and options. I also appreciate the responsive support and seamless Slack/Teams alerts, plus easy setup which did not take long.

Cons: The only con I would say is that it's hard to understand the dashboard at first, if you are non technical.

Overall: At first, I was worried that running everything through a proxy might slow things down or break something, but honestly, performance hasn’t taken a hit at all—in fact, some things actually load faster. What really stood out was how much safer we felt once it was up and running—we could finally see what was changing on our site, block risky behavior, and stay compliant without having to micromanage every vendor. It’s one of those tools that gives you peace of mind in the background while letting you stay focused on building.

"Great security solution with great usability"

    Posted 2025-07-24

Pros: This might be the best client-side security solution out there, this platform makes it super easy to make sure your site is secure. It shows you what actual scripts are running on your site, automatically flags and blocks malicious ones, and keeps track of all script history so you can see how they've changed between versions. It was pretty quick to set up, they make PCI compliance really easy, and their support is top-tier. Not much to dislike!

Cons: The dashboard took a little bit of exploring to figure out where a lot of the information was. Some of their useful features are a bit buried, but their team was a great in helping me find what I needed.

Overall: Overall, this is a really great platform and so is the team, it's clear they really want to solve the problem of insecure/malicious third party scripts on the web. Would recommend giving it a try for sure.

"So many scripts I did not know about "

    Posted 2025-07-24

Pros: Comprehensive script analysis per page and across the entire site
Detailed breakdown of what each script does and where data goes
Easy to identify DOM modifications and potential conflicts
Excellent for compliance audits and security reviews
Responsive development team that listens to user feedback

Cons: SSO support is currently in beta and can be a bit rough around the edges

Overall: The level of detail is impressive: you get clear breakdowns about what each script does, where it’s sending data, and whether it tweaks the DOM behind the scenes. For someone doing compliance or just chasing security peace of mind, it’s a real time saver. There are a few rough edges (like the SSO still being a bit clunky), but you can see the team is listening and improving pretty quickly. Overall, it’s made reviewing and understanding complex sites feel a lot less overwhelming.

    Posted 2025-07-24

Pros: Clear visibility into code per site and per page
Can examine script contents and functionality
Shows data transmission and DOM manipulation clearly
Great for auditing website scripts and tracking
The developers are responsive to feedback - when I mentioned the data overload issue, they shared their new dashboard design that should address this concern.

Cons: Can feel overwhelming with large websites due to the amount of data

Overall: CSide has been a game-changer for understanding what's actually happening on our website. As someone who needs to keep track of all the scripts and tracking codes that get added by our marketing team, this tool is invaluable.

Pros: Ease of integration into our pages. Support is responsive and worked through all of our implementation and post implementation items. Great group of people to work with.

Cons: the SSO integration could use some polishing, but support was helpful and knowledgeable to get integration with my SSO solution worked out.
