    "Customer Support Sucks"

    Posted 2023-09-21

Pros: Secure, easy to use - good clean interface. Ability to add a custom domain. Privacy and end to end encryption.

Cons: Non Existent Customer Support. No way to contact the company is given on their website - Just FAQ's that I do need the answers to.

Overall: Will not be continuing it as I cannot contact customer support with regard to a payment issue for an upgraded subscription. The on-line payment processor does not work and I cannot make a payment. The link given on their website to contact for payment problems does not work.

"Largest storage for privacy based emailing"

    Posted 2021-08-15

Pros: Tutanota is a privacy based email system. Free accounts come with 1gb, the largest of any comparable free service. Emails can be set with a password and be temporary. Also included is a contacts service and calendar service all in one.

Cons: The web app works way better than the mobile device app. Con mobile, I cant even print an email or save it as a pdf. Free accounts can only use 1 color for labeling.

Overall: This won't become my main email, but it is the best option for more privacy based emailing. Highly appreciate the large size, and calendar/contact integration.

    "Good, but app needs work"

    Posted 2020-11-10

Pros: Tutanota allows you to keep your emails more private by encrypting them, along with a password you can give to the person you're sending the email to. You can choose whether you want to send an encrypted email or not. Tutanota can be access via browser, desktop, or mobile. It comes with a light and a dark theme. You can have several aliases if you pay. Multiple plan options are available.

Cons: Mobile apps needs work. It just doesn't run as smoothly as other email apps. You have to download each file you receive individually no matter what way you access your mail. I don't see why I can have an option to download all files at once. Since it's new and more secure, you'll find many services won't accept it as a valid email either. There's a lot of issues around aliases once you pass the 5 you get from paying. The system definitely screws you over if you want to get rid of one. You may end up having to pay even more just to get more aliases and even though you already tossed one of them. This really shouldn't be at all and is ridiculous.

Overall: I use Tutanota and Gmail, for different purposes. Tutanota isn't at the point yet where it can be used exclusively. Too many websites won't see it as a valid email and it certainly has flaws that need to be fixed in its service . The issues with aliases need to be rethought and fixed, and there needs to be more support overall. It's promising, but it's not quite there yet.
