Imagine Math is a supplemental, adaptive digital math program designed to support students from PreK through Geometry. It offers two distinct, age-appropriate learning environments: a storybook-themed platform for PreK–2 learners and a more advanced interface for students in grades 3 and above. The program personalizes learning pathways based on diagnostic assessments, ensuring that each student receives instruction tailored to their individual needs. For younger students, Imagine Math emphasizes foundational skills through engaging narratives and interactive activities, while older students benefit from features like live, certified bilingual (English/Spanish) teacher support, interactive whiteboards, and tools that promote mathematical discourse and reasoning. The program also includes motivational elements such as THINK Points, which students can earn and use for various rewards, fostering engagement and perseverance.

Creating solutions to unforeseen problems is second nature in human intelligence, a result of critical thinking informed by experience. The machine learning community has made tremendous progress in generating and understanding textual data, but advances in problem-solving remain limited to relatively simple maths and programming problems, or else retrieving and copying existing solutions. As part of DeepMind’s mission to solve intelligence, we created a system called AlphaCode that writes computer programs at a competitive level. AlphaCode achieved an estimated rank within the top 54% of participants in programming competitions by solving new problems that require a combination of critical thinking, logic, algorithms, coding, and natural language understanding. AlphaCode uses transformer-based language models to generate code at an unprecedented scale, and then smartly filters to a small set of promising programs.
