About Statseeker

Statseeker is a fully-featured network performance monitoring solution. It's highly scalable and delivers fast real-time performance data from a minimal server footprint.

Statseeker can be up and running within minutes, and discovering your entire network in less than an hour, without any significant effect on your bandwidth availability.

Statseeker monitors networks of any size, polling up to one million interfaces every 60 seconds, collecting network data such as SNMP, ping, NetFlow (sFlow and J-Flow), syslog and trap messages and API data, as well as SDN configuration and health metrics.

Your network performance data is never averaged or rolled up. This removes the guesswork in identifying over- and underutilized infrastructure, conducting root cause analysis, or capacity planning.

Statseeker's out-of-the-box dashboards and reports give you the contextual data needed to proactively monitor your network and fix problems before users are aware.

    "Statseeker helps with capacity planing"

    Posted 2024-01-02

Pros: Statseeker offers a wide range of options for monitoring differnt network devices. The ability to dive into the statistics of every single interface of our deployment is a key component in administering the global network.

A usecase which is used very often is the reporting of WAN connections, since these often are the bottelneck of many remote locations.

Information about the current and past utilisation are vital for planing new lines and connections.
This feature helps to size the lines corretly which is a huge cost benefit for the company.

The vendor support is very helpful, responsive and helps with updates, configuration and Troubleshooting.

Cons: The learning curve is quite steep, configuring reports and personal dashboards normally does not work on the first try.
Several tweaks are needed to get the correct data from the correct device visualised in the needed diagram.

On the fly this is no easy task.

Overall: Statseeker is our tool of choice to monitor the entire global network.

The default dashboard, interface and device views are helpful for looking into further datapoints.

Cons: Sometimes it's difficult to create custom dashboards or reports, but always have great support from the Statseeker team.

Overall: I find the Statseeker product is getting better every upgrade. We've been using it since version 3.x Any time i have needed help with setting up dashboards or reports the support team have always been there to help thorough every step of the way.

    "Seeking the Stats"

    Edited 2023-12-05

Pros: - Super easy to deploy and get basic setup within hours.
    - Lightweight and super fast polling engine. OA appliance also adds greater visibility for remote sites.
    - Flexible alerting engine and grouping of devices/interfaces
    - Great dashboard editor allowing quick and easy layouts/changes
    - Excellent support team for any technical issues. They are super responsive and happy to help.

Cons: - Interface feels a little dated but is constantly being updated
    - Learning curve for dashboard queries can take a little time to get your head around but once you do it's pretty straightforward
    - Adding custom data types can take a while time to complete. Requires a support request

Overall: I've used Statseeker on multiple networks over the last 3 years and can say with confidence that it's a solid product. It has helped track down multiple network issues and alerted our support teams when things devices have gone south. I've also had the pleasure of working with Statseeker to test new features before wider release which really helps connect end users and dev teams to create a great product that actually works. They are always open to and encourage feedback as well.

    "Telco Grade Scalable Product"

    Posted 2023-11-29

Pros: This product can handle hundreds of thousands of elements without significantly affecting the CPU and memory.

In addition it provides flexibility with a suite of CLI commands to configure and report on elements.

Support staff are highly skilled and friendly. The few times I have reached out they never make you feel like it is an imposition, and always respond in a timely manner.

Cons: I must learn more about JSON. A Perl shell for codifying Dashboards would be on my wish list.

Overall: I have nothing but praise for the product. I work for a large Telco in addition to being a programmer with 30 years experience who dabbles with RRD and cannot match what this product does - in fact cannot get near it.

"Our go-to network monitoring tool "

    Edited 2023-11-27

Pros: Reporting - can easily create customised scheduled reports.
Alerts-can create meaningful alerts for certain threshold breaches for a specific group.
GUI, navigating / quick access to graphs/stats, vendor support.
    Ease of administration.

Cons: More knowledge may be required to work with APIs.

Overall: Statseeker has been a vital tool we can depend on for visibility to the networks we manage.  We use Statseeker to report link utilisation and latency for our contact centres, retail stores, and trigger alerts for threshold breaches.  We also use it as a capacity planning tool for our cloud and multi-vendor core infra services.  The reporting is highly customisable and easy to navigate from high level views down to very granular time stamps of occurrence when performing troubleshooting.  This as been our go-to snmp based monitoring tool for the past few years.  Support has been great and helpful.

    "Highly recommend Statseeker"

    Posted 2023-11-24

Pros: Statseeker's highly customisable dashboards have proven invaluable in providing us with a clear and detailed visibility into our network.

The level of support we receive from their team is exceptional, consistently open to considering and implementing any ideas or improvements we propose.

Cons: The integration with Active Directory requires individual user additions instead of allowing Statseeker to reference an AD group directly.

There's currently no functionality to back up switch configurations, which would be a valuable addition.

Additionally, some aspects of the GUI appear a bit dated and could benefit from a more modernised design.

Overall: We are thoroughly pleased with both the product itself and the exceptional support it comes with. It an easy to use product which exceptional reporting capabilities.

    "Good solid NMS!"

    Edited 2023-11-22

Pros: Easy and the ability to see device data and uptime and statistics.
    Alerting is fast and reliable.
The team are very helpful with support and also customising to suite our environment, If something doesn't work they will help and get it working for you and ensure it is supported as best they can. 10/10 for Support!

Cons: Slightly older appearance and UI compared with other NMS, but what it does, it does well. Graphing could use a bit of a polish to give it some more modern look and feel (think more SPLUNK or Graphana).
Would really love to see an app for easy remote based troubleshooting and viewing of device status. With secure gateway to remove the complexities of VPN requirements for afterhours network visibility.

Overall: Solid no fuss, all round great tool. Effective and reliable!!
Cant fault their support and help with the platform. Frequently touch base and feel looked after.

Statseeker dashboards allow me to select any point in time to view the overall status of the network.

Cons: Setting up the world map could be easier.
Sometimes the reports can be a little confusing to figure out which ones to use for what.

    "Awesome Product"

    Posted 2023-11-22

Pros: Very good for Simple UP/Down alerts. Fast and effective. The discovery of new network devices is easy too and it can be automated. I have done several upgrades including service packs etc, they are very easy.

Cons: I wish you can disable the alerts for certain devices with a toggle on/off. An automated Network diagram will be nice and I wish there is a mobile app for this!!!

Overall: I really like the product and it doesn't cost as much as other vendors and i have to say that their support is bloody awesome!
