App developers that want to add 3D vision to their app with ease using the Roux SDK

About Roux

Add 3D vision to your app with ease. The Roux SDK provides a robust, stable, simple API for developers to interact with a multitude of depth-sensors. You don’t need to be a computer vision expert to use Roux. We do the heavy lifting so you can focus on creating a program that uses 3D data in innovative ways. Natively fix flying pixels, auto-patch over exposed meshes - from scanning to SLAM, Roux makes it all possible. Roux does more than just create beautiful 3D scans. Our proprietary technology includes the features other teams would need to build from scratch. Live, on-device, collaborative tracking, scanning, meshing, and SLAM. Scandy’s existing 3D software allows your team to hit the ground running on iOS, MacOS and Linux. Initializing the SDK is easy – drop the framework into your project and you are ready to go. We’ve done the heavy lifting on the computer vision side to make your development lighter.

    "Easy 3D Scanning and Viewing"

    Posted 2020-08-04

Pros: Simple to use 3D scanning SDK. Was able to implement functionality in React Native app in no time at all.

Cons: Took some creativity to get the SDK configuration into our CI/CD pipeline, but it wasn't a problem for very long.

Overall: Roux enabled my team to able to build out a custom 3D scanning application without worrying directly about how to convert depth sensor information into 3d data which made developing a 3d-scanning enabled application as easy as it could possibly be.

"Working with Scandy Roux and React Native"

    Posted 2020-08-04

Pros: Clear examples, coupled in with easy-to-use, pre-built scanner component made this product easy to use. On top of that, there was great communication from the Scandy team whenever we had questions.

Cons: Documentation was mostly example based, which could really be seen as good or bad depending on which way one looks at it.

Overall: Overall, I had a great experience. Roux is a very useful piece of technology, and I'm excited to check out Lidar in the near future.
