    "Somewhat confusing to players"

    Posted 2023-05-19

Pros: Different styles of questions, including music and video clips.
    Easy to choose an answer.
Can use live or online with Zoom/MSTeams/etc.

    Cons: Unclear rules.
Can't change answer when you make a mistake.

Overall: We used to regularly have a company live trivia night (team based) which was always great fun. Since COVID we have been using Quizxpress to have online trivia nights instead which I always found confusing and annoying. (BTW I am writing this from the perspective of a player not the organiser.) One problem that most players had was trouble understanding how the scoring worked, but this may have been due to a lack of explanation or bad setup.

One thing that was not clear was whether everyone in the team should answer or just one of us answers for the team. Also I was told that answering more quickly gets more points, but I hope that is not true as my phone seemed to respond more slowly than most. A *really* annoying thing was not being able to change your answer if you hit the wrong button.

To me an ideal setup would be to have one (trusted) person designated to answer for the team (or a majority vote), and no bonus for speed (but obviously some time limit). It would be nice to be able to change your answer before the time limit is up.
