Business owners, influencers, and non-developer users looking for a QR code solution to create dynamic and static codes
About QR.io
By using QR.io you will be able keep track of how many people scan your QR Codes, from where and on what date. Also for those non-developers, you can create fully customized landing pages for your QR Codes. No coding required! The outcome of both are pretty similar. They have their differences when it comes to changes, updates, stats, track. With Dynamic Qr Codes you can create a customized landing page for your QR Code that can be changed and updated whenever you want no matter if the QR Code is created or even if it went public. Dynamic Qr Codes also give you statistics of how many people scanned your QR Codes, from where and on what date. This QR Code type is most used by business owners (restaurants, gyms, clothing stores, etc.), artists, influencers, and non-developers users. Static QR Codes on the other hand can't be changed or updated once created and went public. Also, static QR Codes do NOT give you statistics of how many people scanned your QR Codes.

"Business practice built on tricking users!!!!!!" Posted 2024-08-13
Pros: Pretty QR Codes. That's it.
Cons: An absolutely despicable business which makes money by tricking it's users.

QR.io does not mention anywhere during the creation of QR codes that it's only valid for a certain amount of time. The company tricks you into thinking it's free so you create the QR code, and then create hundreds or thousands of business cards, or in my case, wedding invitations, which are then rendered useless a couple weeks later when the QR code is deactivated unless you pay a MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION OF $35!!!
Are you kidding me??? Now my guests can't RSVP unless I pay a monthly subscription!
I'm now stuck having a stack of useless wedding invitations, that have already been sent out to guests, unless I pay $35 a month, which was never stated to me during the creation of the QR codes.
This is absolutely absurd and this business needs to either make some changes in their practices or be shut down. This is unbelievably deceptive and there is no way this is legal. -

"Buyer Beware" Posted 2024-07-24
Pros: None.
Cons: I signed up for the QR code service mid 2022. I canceled my subscription in November of 2022. I am still being charged for this service and the "company" has refused to refund their erroneous charges, even after providing proof of cancellation, and has stopped replying to my email.
Overall: They do not have a customer support number. Buyer beware.

"Total Scam" Posted 2024-06-11
Pros: Easy to create a QR in the colors and design you want but that's it. Total scam afterwards and no other pros.
Cons: Force you to pay $35 even for a single QR code
Does not indicate clearly the difference between static and dynamic QR codes and by default creates a dynamic code which redirects though their domain. To keep this one active, you need to pay after 7 days
Very misleading website.Overall: Do not trust QR.io. There is nothing positive I can say about them. Avoid at all costs - there are numerous better alternatives.

"ABSOLUTE SCAM" Posted 2024-04-06
Pros: The 7 days I thought this was free.
Absolutely nothing else.Cons: After 7 days they revealed that they lied to me and now I had to fork out 35 bucks so that the magazines I printed and were sent to circulation don't have busted qr codes.
This should be illegal.Overall: Pure garbage, I was just scammed out of my money after fake advertising and fake promises.

Pros: Nothing, absolutely terrible service. There is literally nothing positive I can even remotely say to endorse this service.
Cons: Says it's free but turns out it's only free for 7 days, after which they want to charge an absolutely ludicrous $35 a month! Totally misleading.
Overall: Do not touch this service with a barge pole! Avoid avoid avoid! There is literally nothing positive I can even remotely say to endorse this service.

Pros: I have to write 100 characters minimum but I do not have 100 characters of positive things to say about this product.
Cons: It makes out that it's free but it's only a free trial for 7 days and then you have to pay $35 A MONTH which is a ridiculous cost for such a basic service.

"Disappointing Experience with QR.io: Limited Features and Lack of Customer Service" Posted 2024-02-16
Pros: We are still awaiting a response from customer service despite having a premium account. The features are extremely limited, and it appears there is no service available. Unfortunately, qr.io has proven unhelpful in advancing our needs; instead, the lack of features and services has set us back.

"Horrible product" Posted 2023-12-14
Pros: I have nothing good to say about this product. This is a scam website. Do not trust anything on their website.
Cons: Suck you in with a "free" code, only to make you pay $35/month after "trial" ends. I paid the $35 but then couldn't access my original code, so my original QR code was useless (of course I'd already printed on cards & such.)
Overall: Cancelled subscription because I couldn't use the QR code I created and inquired about a refund because I wasn't using said membership. They asked for proof of payment, which I sent, and then ghosted me. Can't seem to get through to anyone, although Carolina was the rep that originally contacted me about sending proof of payment. DO NOT TRUST. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.

"Very scammy operation" Posted 2023-12-10
Pros: The whole front end is a very quick simple way to make and customize a QR code. Very easy, plug and play, and gave you a few minimal options to customize the code.
Cons: I didn't realize I needed to create an account for this ONE code to work until I already printed the code. I tested it MULTIPLE times before sending it to the printer. I would have been happy to pay for just this one code, but if I want this code to work, I have to pay $35 a month for an account I absolutely don't need. I made this QR code as part of a Christmas gift. There needed to be more transparency at the front end before wasting people's time making the code so easy to create.
Overall: I am super bummed. I can't use this code--I can't afford to print another code. This was a real bummer.

"It is not free after 7 days" Posted 2023-12-04
Pros: This website made it very easy to create the QR codes, change their color, modify them and save them.
Cons: $35/month for QR codes is obscenely overpriced. I will pay the fee for the moment as I've had marketing already created but will be switching to a different company.
Overall: They do not disclose upfront that the fee will be $35 per month minimum after 7 days. This is ridiculously overpriced.

"Misleading" Posted 2023-11-20
Pros: The features are similar to other apps that allow you to create QR codes of different styles with some control over color and adding a logo. There are other additional features and type of additional hosted uses available.
Cons: The "free" functionality states it is unlimited and suggests that a QR code created that way would work indefinitely. However, behind the scenes the link you specify if trying to create a code that takes you to a static URL, is actually re-directed first so that it will expire in a few days and require you to pay to re-activate. There are plenty of free apps to create QRs with the same features as far as aesthetics.
Overall: Avoid unless you want to subscribe for whatever features they may offer that can be got for free elsewhere (didn't see any) if you are OK with over $30 a month.

"I dont usually get caught but it cost me!" Edited 2023-11-13
Pros: none, and I mean absolutely no pros to using this software. Yes you can create and download the QR code easily enough, they made it so quick that you don't even notice anywhere that after 7 days you are going to be well and truly shafted!
Cons: I needed some QR codes for some Artwork I prepared, not realising the "Free" QR Code wasn't free. over £100 of leaflets wasted as although the QR code initially worked fine, by the time I received the leaflets the 7 days trial was up and as soon as you click on the QR code, you get sent to a paywall that asks you for $35 MONTHLY subscription. I had to pay for the first month since my store was opening and I needed the codes, but what a rip off! It was flat out extortion!
I've just had to pay another £50 for stickers with new QR codes on to cover up their useless ones!Overall: The worst thing is your CUSTOMERS who click on the QR code get shown that in order to use the QR code it will cost $35 - they actually give them the link to the subscription payment. How about that!!!!!!

So your own customers who you are trying to market to think you are a complete ******* trying to bill them to use the QR code.
Do not fall for these criminals! They are complete rip off merchants, they clearly don't even care about their product or how its viewed by customers, given the many negative reviews I've now read. -

"Ripoff" Posted 2023-10-12
Pros: Easy to use. Can make a QR code quickly and get an image that is printable. Gets you in. Good scam technique actually.
Cons: They collect your personal data, let you make a QR code that links to an online contact/business card which lasts for one week. Then they ask you pay USD $35 per month to keep that going. Are you serious!!!!. You would actually earn more money of you made it $2/month.
Overall: A waste of time. Another company set up to gouge users.Comes up number 1 in a google search for QR code generators.

"Swing and a miss" Posted 2023-10-02
Pros: Not sure.
They totally got me.
Hard these days to be on point with every detail and these guys really got me good in a flow of many many events, putting some lovely extra problems in this day.Cons: Don't use or associate with this app.
Wow.
Some not so free software.
They really need to super over clarify the expensive costs involved.
In the creation of new business there are an enormous amount of detail to register all over the workflow.
I missed this detail.
Spent 100 dollars on marketing the past week that is now out there in print.
That was apparently the free trial before they wanted 35bucks per month...
For that one QR code now on posters and business cards.
I'm sure I'll manage to get that simple service for free elsewhere now.
That unfortunately having missed this detail, as mentioned they do need to over clarify and not market so widely as something free, if they want to avoid really dissatisfied, (potential) customers.
Had i been able to pay say 1/10th, 3.5usd per month to just have that one QR code i made with their service running for a few months now as its in prints... would be worth it.Overall: Now instead I'm just annoyed and super dissatisfied as this was the headache of this morning.

"Deceitful practice" Posted 2023-08-10
Pros: By principle nothing. If the service was how they sold it, I would say the site was ok to use but I won't since I do not care for essentially making people panic subscribe once they've realized their mistake.
Cons: They hide the fact that instead of "free" it's a "free TRIAL".
Overall: I tried it once. Printed out codes for selling my products but then a little while later got an email that for them to work I need to subscribe. This was very much new information to me. Sure it may have been hidden somewhere on the site but it wasn't exactly clearly projected. I try to run a small business and I lost money because of this deceitful "service".
