Students who miss class time being tardy, absent or out-of-placement (suspension, expulsion or alternative school), are at greater risk for failure. Schools need to reduce time out of class to foster student achievement. Overall the system is wonderful, and does a great job of replacing the old school paper write-up forms. It is easy to find students, import notes or discipline referrals. While there are minor items that could be adjusted, overall this system is a solid system that has been beneficial to our county school system. Avoid problems by teaching expectations, designing effective classroom procedures and developing teachers' classroom management skills. Parents get a clear idea of what happens at school. Parents become allies in the mission to keep students in class. If a student must be placed in in-school suspension, make that time as beneficial as possible by making it easy for teachers to provide assignments for students to work on.
