"Very difficult to work with" Posted 2025-12-14
Pros: Pl Pro came bundled with my hosting package, so was priced exceptionally well. Had far and away more features than the free version of Elementor, which in comparison was pretty useless. Most of what I wanted to do, I could eventually do with Pagelayer. I could do almost nothing with free version Elementor. But that is my only experience, so take that for what it is worth.
Cons: The final product didn't work on mobile devices or even laptops. Not only was the formatting and layout completely out of whack on other platforms, but the menus and links didn't work. I put in four months of learning and study to figure out how to build my own website and ended up having to hire a professional to finish it. I would have been better off to bring in a pro from the beginning. Basically said, this product doesn't work.
Overall: I am not a techie. I have no tech background, just an average guy. The whole premise of these "beginner friendly" page builders is a lie. It's like Ford saying "anyone can maintain their new car." Sure, if they are willing to dedicate about three years of full time study to learning how. Website building is the same way. For professionals, if I found this product clumsy and faulty, I'm sure legit programmers would hate it.

"Too Many Security Risks" Posted 2024-01-30
Pros: It had amazing potential. But it is not secure. I would not recommend so there are no pro's to this.
Cons: It is not secure. Your sites will be hacked repeatedly until you no longer have access and have to rebuild your site.
Overall: Avoid. Do not use. Even Norton prevents you from going to the client side of the site and it looks like they haven't updated it in a while suggesting they no longer have access to it either. They still collect money though, and it is no good.

"Stopped Working" Posted 2023-07-25
Pros: When it was working it was average. It had all the features I was used to and a couple of other things.
Cons: It stopped working completely. Because it was integrated with my theme, I had to completely start over with my site design.
Overall: I don't know what happened but I built two sites using it and when I recently went to edit them, it had completely stopped working. I tried using a different editor for the page edits but the edits were totally highjacked. That led to me having to delete PageLayer and completely rebuild my whole websites.

"PageLayer — editing made unsimple" Edited 2023-04-12
Pros: Allows you to put together a full Word Press website from components using entirely a web interface.
Cons: The interface is like pulling out your toenails. The user experience of editing pages in PageLayer is like trying to do everything in Microsoft Paint — there is nothing that PageLayer couldn't make more difficult.
Overall: Save yourself some grief and don't use it — perhaps it is too much to expect PageLayer to be a CMS content editing system instead of a site editor. Trying to create a page with any amount of control over the type or spacing or paragraph formats, or integrating with images is painful. EDLIN is better than this.
