With these seven gesture types, DOTKey is able to recognize nearly 200 unique gestures, from which we have selected the most efficient and intuitive to represent the actions performed on a traditional keyboard. To ensure that DOTKey would be fast and efficient, we first tested the comfort level and sequential speed of each gesture combination. We then used this information to design a mapping of gestures to letters.
