Melio

Pros: Melio is the best and reliable and affordable. A lot of users and companies are glad to join Melio because it's really great to use and many people praise them and their support staff because they are fast in solving issues. Honestly I'm really glad to use Melio. Have not regretted anything since I joined. 💚💚

Overall: Since I join Melio have never experienced any bad issues from them. Because they always make everything fantastic.

Pros: Melio has made our job so much easier by removing the need for paper checks printed in office. Giving us the option to send ACH to vendors for quick turnaround. And allowing for easy check voiding/refunding/reissuing. No more tracking down checks that did not get cashed and paying a $20 bank fee for stopping checks.

Cons: Checks seem to get lost in the mail a lot and recently there have been a number of "failed payments" which is a pain to deal with. We work as outsourced accountants for a number of clients and they get frustrated with the time for processing of checks with the system and the amount of times the post office looses/returns checks. The other issue is some days support is extremely difficult to reach. You can be on a chat hold for over a day which can be frustrating.

Overall: Overall I think the time saved by using this tool is well worth the issues that come along with it. But don't think using this tool is a seamless process. Melio will fail payments for no reason, the post office will return checks, vendors won't get their checks in the mail. There is a bit of time required on chat with Melio support to get payments to where they need to be. But I would take that over printing paper checks and stuffing envelopes.

Pros: Easy to use and everything is in one place. I love the ease of sending and receiving payments. Time is precious.

Cons: Need more integration with more accounting software, I like to see more with tax software and sales tax.

Overall: I love it overall, for payment I only use Melio. It is way better than my bank. I love the fast response of the customer service!

Pros: I like how they made it easy for us to do financial transactions.

Cons: What I found not good on Melio is that the solution is not available worldwide.

Pros: Melio allow us to make fast and easy payments. With Melio, you can pay any business or individual in seconds with just an email or phone number. No more waiting around for checks or wires. Their Simple interface is a game changer. The platform is intuitive and easy to use. Best of all, their have a top notch security and encryption to protect your data. It's much more secure than paying by check.

Cons: The only negative thing I found in Melio is it Limited integrations. While it connects to popular accounting platforms like QuickBooks, it doesn't integrate with everything yet.

Overall: Melio makes paying vendors and contractors an absolute breeze for small businesses and solopreneuers. The fast payments, flexibility, and ease of use are game changing compared to old school payment methods like checks and wires. The free sign up and lack of monthly fees also make it very affordable. Melio should be a go-to tool for any small business looking to streamline payments and get rid of the hassle of paper checks. Highly recommended!

Pros: The ease of set up and implementation on this software is outstanding. The immediate sync with Quickbooks has been a time saver.

Cons: This software was free when we started using and now is charging per transaction. I am not a fan as part of our attraction to this software was no fee.

Overall: My overall experience with Melio has been a positive one. We have multiple locations and the approval process on each invoice being processed has been seamless.

Pros: The idea is novel and should be incredibly useful for many small business owners: send payments to vendors and other contractors using a variety of methods. Quick processing, ability to pay with a credit card, and payment tracking are all very useful features.

Cons: I'll delve into details in my overall review, but in summary, Melio seems to have launched their product without fully testing it for bugs, and customer service is not trained to deal with the resulting snafus. Based on my personal experience with the platform, I have some doubts as to the level of security with which Melio guards customers' financial information. There also needs to be a more robust process for phone and email support specialists to interact with Melio's IT people, because it seems the former doesn't really understand how the site is working, nor how to resolve software glitches when they occur. Again, I offer more detail in the full review.

Overall: I am a real estate broker who frequently makes payments to a variety of vendors, industry professionals and other brokers. I signed up for Melio because I liked the idea of being able to pay some of these invoices with a credit card, both for tracking purposes and for the credit card points. The service worked as advertised for a handful of payments and then the breakdown began. Melio initially processed, then rejected a handful of payments claiming that payroll was not allowed. However, these are the exact same vendors I'd already paid through the service previously with no issues. (And of course, since they aren't my employees, it wasn't payroll). At one point Melio held a payment they'd rejected, claiming they could not send it back to the originating bank. It was a little over $1000, so not life-changing money, but frustrating that I had to make multiple requests of customer service to sort it out. Things continued to get more surreal from there. The next thing I know, Melio sends me an email stating that there are multiple accounts with my social security number attached and that I need to let them know which is the "real" one so they can delete the other. Concerned about a possible breach of my private data, I contact their customer service, who initially doesn't respond. On the second attempt, they look into the matter only to tell me that they don't see anything like that on their end and that they apologize for sending the alert in error. Several weeks go by and I attempt to log in to send another payment through Melio. In the final coup de grace, I receive a message telling me that my account has been closed because I did not respond to the request to confirm which of the two with my social security number was the real one. At this point I have stopped using Melio and won't recommend it to others, until they get their internal systems and customer service sorted out.

Pros: Melio is free! As they say, the best things in life are free! Absolutely no fees to receive payments, clients absorb costs when they pay with credit cards.

Cons: Aside from small glitches, which is very rare, no complaints.

Overall: I love using Melio! It saves me money and clients use it with ease. If any issues, customer service is very helpful.

Pros: The idea behind Melio is great. Allow customers to pay by ACH, allow them to choose to pay by credit card and bear the burden of those fees themselves. This is exactly what I was looking for in my business.

Cons: The customer support is terrible. They take days to get back to you, if ever. The actual way the service works is nothing like it is described. They will allow you to send invoices, but then not actually work, which is a huge hit to credibility.

Overall: What Melio sets out to do is great. They fill a need for free ACH payment acceptance, which other places charge as much as 1% for. They also allow you to accept credit cards while placing the burden for credit card fees on the customer. The problem is they are not reliable or customer service focused. They are willing to ignore you and leave you without a payment source at all which is a huge hit to the credibility of your business.

Pros: Melio stands out as an excellent choice for small businesses. Its user-friendly interface makes managing and paying bills online a breeze. The integration process with accounting software is swift, saving valuable time. Melio offers free credit card payment options, providing convenience for financial management.

Cons: While Melio boasts convenience in functionality, the online help interface could be enhanced for a more user-friendly experience. Users may find it time-consuming to locate specific information.

Overall: Melio is a reliable payment partner for small businesses with its user-friendly interface and flexible payment features. The swift integration and the convenience of credit card payments make it a favorable choice for financial management. Despite a minor drawback in the online help interface, Melio remains an efficient option for bill payment management.

Cons: The processing time on paid invoices. I can't mark invoices as paid within Melio.

Pros: Melio is a great product that allows businesses to utilize credit cards to pay vendors and other biz expenses that usually can’t go on a CC. They have also have auto pay feature which is very nice. The other thing I love is that it integrates into QuickBooks.

Cons: A little pricey, but on pretty standard in industry.

Overall: Overall we are very happy as a company and use this as a tool to maximize our spend and leverage credit to grow our business.

Pros: I absolutely love Melio! It’s so easy to use, there are no fees when you use ACH and super low fees when you use a credit card to handle your invoices. Melio has helped me manage my business finances like a total pro. I recommend it to everyone I know.

Overall: The best business finance software that’s ever existed. There is no competition, Melio is the best option when you need to pay bills and get paid as a business owner.

Pros: Melio is a great bill pay solution for small businesses. I love that it syncs to QuickBooks Online and that you can upload your bill directly into the software and then the bill syncs into the QBO transaction. I also love that you can set up recurring payments.

Cons: It doesn't sync with all levels of QuickBooks Online. There have been many occasions that ACH payments do not arrive within the window promised which is frustrating. So our clients know that if the payment has a critical deadline they chose to pay a wire fee to guarantee delivery. I also wish very much that you could edit your recurring payment series without having to cancel the whole series.

Overall: Melio is a great value for clients that do not have enough volume to justify BILL. I like the new view, though I would love it if clicking on a vendor brought up their whole history.

Pros: Simple design that's easy to use, the tools I need, easy to send invoices, organizes what I need financially in one place.

Cons: I loved it all! I enjoy that this has been easy to use.

Overall: Wonderful - It was frictionless to sign up, send my first invoice, and I've been using Melio ever since.

Pros: Easy set up, safe, secure and reliable. I had no issues at any point during the process and have confidence it will continue to be reliable in the future!

Cons: Was my first time using a service like this so I had to educate myself on how the process worked.

Overall: Very positive. A great tool to use for my business! Some merchants will only accept certain payment methods and this allows me to budget better.

Pros: Melio has a fantastic integration with QBO, allows me to run my business fully remote, has a solid approval process and pays quickly (just 3 business days for ACH).

Cons: When one of my vendors requests a paper check I need to monitor that to make sure the Melio check gets cashed. Melio doesn't notify you if a check never gets cashed.

Overall: Overall Melio does exactly what I need for a very reasonable price - free for ACH payments and first 5 checks monthly are free. It integrates well with my QBO software.
