With the guidance, you’ll know which features to pay primary attention to and how to adjust the settings. We informed the support in advance about our goals and limitations — and they helped us.

Overall: When trying MainEDC in demo mode, we got access to all the functions that we were interested in. This mode gives a genuinely good notion of the platform’s capabilities. Now, we’re using the full version and we like it. Every step of working with data is comprehensive and user-friendly. The processes of uploading, processing and analyzing the data as well as compiling reports are well organized. API integration with other platforms also comes in handy for us.

Pros: Well-thought-out set of data entry tools. Smart feature navigation. Opportunity to reduce the project’s capital costs.

Cons: Some of our team members don’t quite appreciate the design — but it’s a matter of taste.

Overall: Our organization specializes in hybrid trials. Both our in-house and remote staff members are happy with the functionality of MainEDC. It gives us everything we need for our projects. We’ve never faced any problems with the input or output of data. The functionality for systematizing and validating data is impressive. There are so many randomization varieties on offer.

Pros: Equally helpful for scientists and managers. At any moment, you can open the running project and inspect any of its stages.

Cons: Some of our team members spend too much time experimenting with settings.

Overall: MainEDC lets us check all the tasks in a highly comprehensive manner. I enjoy using this platform and I recommend it to colleagues. In our sphere, the human factor can lead to serious mistakes with grave consequences. Main EDC automate processes to the max and minimizes the risk of mistakes. I’d like to mention its automated drug supply feature separately, it’s really useful. The last thing that I want to say is: it was the first platform where we tried a full audit trail based on blockchain technology.

Pros: Lack of third-party acquisitions or integrations. High security level. Extensive functionality. Helpful English-speaking support.

Cons: We haven’t explored and used all the MainEDC functions yet because there are too many of them.

Overall: We had an unpleasant situation with the platform that we used before MainEDC. We were running late with a project and were in a hurry. At 10 am on Monday, we could hardly reach the support. And when we reached it, it took them nearly two hours to help us.

The support services of MainEDC are much better. The support team knows the product inside out. They’ve never made us wait too long and their consultations are always very informative.

Cons: Not every team of researchers will need to use the full potential of MainEDC.

Overall: My favorite features are connected to central and local laboratory data handling. Plus, I like analytics for sponsor oversight of the clinical data. The list could go on. The interface might seem a bit complex at first sight but it’s only because the platform has so many different features.

MainEDC is not an expensive solution. But I guess companies with big budgets benefit from it more than small businesses, such as the one that I work for.

Pros: Regardless of whether I use my home laptop or my smartphone, I’ll never miss a notification and I can freely use the dashboard.

Cons: It’s more comfortable for me to work on a large screen than on a smartphone.

Overall: I know that today, it’s a norm that you can access any platform you need from any device. But it’s not the case with older solutions. We, scientists, often can’t access the programs that we need from our mobile phones — or we can, but the functionality of the mobile versions is not identical to the desktop ones. Besides, selected solutions can be available only on the computers from our laboratories. MainEDC is a modern platform that takes care of its users. I can access it from anywhere without limitations!

Pros: You can modify your projects at any phase without relaunching them. It saves time and money. The overall speed of work is fast.

Cons: MainEDC can’t fully replace human experts. You have to manually control some operations.

Overall: We always need to be ready to introduce amendments to our projects. MainEDC is a flexible and responsive solution that allows us to conveniently update the settings and information. The updates don’t slow down the process and don’t lead to mistakes. There are not so many alternatives on the market that would let us do the same. And for that money, there are no alternatives at all 😊

Pros: Amazing drag & drop advanced study designer! MainEDC is suitable for any type of project, even the most sophisticated one.

Cons: Sometimes, our work slows down because we need to modify too many settings.

Overall: The collection of templates is rich as it is. But the drag & drop advanced study designer allows you to do without the templates — and that’s valuable. Another point is that the participants of our studies are usually scattered across different parts of the world. Nevertheless, we can conveniently manage their study cards. The system meticulously structures all the information. It takes you only a couple of seconds or even less to find what you’re looking for.

Pros: This platform simplifies every step of conducting trials. It reduces the workload of the staff and eliminates the mess.

Cons: In some cases, it might be challenging to fill in the tables and the lab data.

Overall: When you open the MainEDC website, one of the first things you see is the promise of a much higher speed of work. Allegedly, this solution enables you to launch a trial project in 5 days — instead of 12.7 weeks, which is the industry average. This sounds optimistic.
We bought MainEDC because we loved the free trial results. This solution allowed us to start the research in 3 weeks. Previously, it took us around 15 weeks. Maybe, we’ll be able to get down to work faster next time if we manage to get rid of some bureaucratic procedures in our company.

Overall: Speed of work is pretty much ok and it’s not prone to bugs. You need to explore all the numerous features and figure out the best settings for each individual case. The result can be perfect but to achieve the result, you have to sweat sometimes. All my colleagues share my opinion. Despite this drawback, we stick to MainEDC because, for our work, it’s more advanced than most competitors. The alternative is to use the default settings, which also works well, but it's not our way or the way of our sponsors 😊. That's why such rich customization is the biggest plus for us in the system!

I often transfer data from one project in MainEDC to another and each time everything goes without a hitch. The forms library saves me time and effort. Plus, MainEDC supports all types of randomization. I recommend this tool to anyone who is involved in clinical trials.

Cons: It’s very different from the older platform that I’ve been using for 6 years.

Overall: I was very happy with the platform that I was working with. But my employer’s shareholders insisted on updates and we switched to several new solutions. MainEDC was one of them. Overall: I lead an inclusive team of professionals. It consists of people of different age groups and with different backgrounds. It was challenging to find the right approach to all of them when I was explaining to them how to use MainEDC! The good thing is that now they’re used to it and they confidently handle it.
Obviously, the people who created it understand a thing or two about validation, randomization and other tidbits that scientists require. I don’t mean to say that other platforms are no good. MainEDC is just more user-friendly and profound.
