About Luminar Neo
Simple photo editor with AI that helps edit your photos as you imagine it in your eyes.
Luminar Neo calculates the depth of a photo and creates a 3D map, making it possible to spread light naturally in 3D space across a 2D image. You can also relight the background and foreground separately, meaning you can darken parts of the image as well. This opens up an opportunity for creative relighting in order to bring your artistic vision to life. Portrait Background RemovalAI is a powerful feature created on the basis of MaskAI, the smart AI technology that quickly detects and selects the objects in the photo. Forget about time-consuming manual selections. Remove the whole background behind the people in your photo, automatically. Portrait Background RemovalAI helps every Luminar artist expand their ideas. Pull the focus on your subject or get the perfect space for further adjustments in your creative compositions.

"I liked the interface design" Posted 2025-08-21
Pros: It's modern, aesthetically pleasing, nothing irritating. You can customize it for yourself, and this is important for visual perception. It's also convenient that you can now clear the cache directly from the settings.
Cons: I would like more export settings. There are a minimum of them now, and in some scenarios this is not enough.
Overall: Neo is an editor that doesn't interfere with your work, but on the contrary, helps you. It's a godsend for everyday and creative shooting

"Luminar Neo does what it should." Posted 2025-06-12
Pros: The program is ideal if you want to work intuitively, and not sit in front of YouTube to understand how to use each tool. Everything is intuitive: the toolbar is logically structured, the transitions between modules are smooth. An excellent choice for those who just want to improve the photo.
Cons: Some tools lack fine-tuning. For example, graduated filters could be made more flexible.
Overall: Luminar Neo does what it should: helps the photographer reveal the idea of the shot. It doesn't interfere, doesn't weigh you down, doesn't scare you. That's the main thing.

Cons: It would be nice if there was offline synchronization or cloud projects — this would be useful if I fly frequently.
Overall: If you're a travel photographer or a blogger on the go — this is the perfect editor. Minimum time, maximum visual effect.

"Wonderful" Posted 2024-02-26
Pros: Luminar Neo is versatile, easy to learn and use. And gives you good results. And there are all the options you need - and even some more.
Cons: Sometimes it could be nice to use different text and fonts, but, then again, it is not that important.
Overall: I have used, and still use both Photoshop and Lightroom. But these past few years I mostly only use Luminar Neo. In Luminar Neo you have everything you would ever need. And, yes, sometimes I also use Luminar Neo just to play around, kind of as an amusement. Silly, yes, but that is how wonderful Luminar Neo is.

"Superb Processing/Editing Program" Posted 2024-02-21
Pros: Much easier to use than Photoshop, with better results in shorter time. I use it in conjunction with Apple Photos as an external editor. I originally started a subscription after evaluating Luminar Neo against other editors such as Inpaint, and Super Eraser for the erase application. Luminar turned out to be best. Later I discovered its AI functions, which are quite impressive.
Cons: The DeNoise sliders need improvement. I obtain better results with Topaz DeNoise, and use it for photos taken at high Iso. The erase brush is not perfect, and multiple applications are required to obtain acceptable results with complicated backgrounds.
Overall: Excellent. This program has exceeded my expectations, especially in the use of AI in editing (Structure sliders for example). Erase functions are the main attraction (can still be improved), but I also use dodge/burn and the clone tool quite a bit. Many photos can be dramatically improved with a change of sky. Much, much easier and faster than Photoshop.

"Excellent program, but a little bit too slow" Posted 2024-02-15
Pros: The program is very easy to use, and thanks to the tutorials on youtube, even beginners can quickly achieve good results. I can only praise the support: a small problem (the raw profiles were not displayed, although they were RAW images) was solved quickly and competently.
Cons: The speed for loading the images is simply too long (despite the new fast computer). there are camera profiles available for RAW images, but I have not yet found an automatic lens correction like in Lightroom.
Overall: Very good tool to quickly achieve appealing results, good additional AI tools, unfortunately with weaknesses in speed.
