Clever was born of co-founder Dan Carroll’s frustration as a school tech director in Denver. His plans to use technology to save teachers time and personalize learning were stymied by countless CSV files and forgotten passwords. Dan recalls, “I wanted to be an innovator, but I got stuck being a human API.” Software has the potential to empower teachers and create new ways to learn. But one thing must happen first. Everyone must be able to log in—quickly and securely. To solve Dan’s problem, we built a single sign-on portal that now helps 60% of U.S. K–12 schools spend more time learning and less time logging in.

Imagine MyPath is an adaptive intervention program designed to accelerate learning for students in grades K–12 by providing personalized, age-appropriate instruction in reading and math. Utilizing assessment data, the Smart Sequencer assigns individualized learning paths tailored to each student's proficiency level, adapting instruction based on mastery checks to ensure comprehension before progressing. The program features built-in adaptive assessments and integrates with NWEA MAP or Renaissance Star 360 to accurately place students and minimize testing time. Teachers receive real-time data on student engagement and progress through an intuitive dashboard, enabling timely interventions with downloadable mini-lessons and printable guided notes. Imagine Language & Literacy is a personalized learning program designed to accelerate both literacy skills and English language development for students in grades PreK–6. It offers direct, explicit, and systematic instruction across four language domains, adapting learning pathways to each student's needs. It integrates the "Big 5" components of reading, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, aligned with the science of reading. It dynamically adjusts instruction and groups students based on skill gaps, suggesting targeted activities.
