"Seamless PLM-ERP integration and excellent Components Engine technical support" Posted 2026-02-01
Pros: I participated as a consultant in an integration between the company's management system, PLM, and Components Engine. The integration was successful without any problems: PLM sent the design bill of materials to Components Engine together with the CAD models, while the management system provided the pricing and availability rules within the customer web portal. Components Engine's technical support proved to be highly competent and efficient.
Cons: No complaints. Implementation times were fast, the roadmap was followed, and, as already mentioned, technical support was excellent.
Overall: We needed to create a customer portal where we could provide information on spare parts directly from the design drawings. The project was a great success.

"Components Engine really simplifies spare parts management" Posted 2026-01-28
Pros: I’ve been using Components Engine for a few months, and I must say it’s very useful for managing complex spare parts catalogs. I particularly like how technical drawings are directly linked to the parts lists: you click on an item and immediately see all the necessary information. The ability to access the catalog from a mobile phone or tablet is also a big advantage, as I can order parts even when I’m not physically in the office.
Cons: At first, it takes a little time to understand how it works and organize all the data. The learning curve is real, but once you get the hang of it, the software becomes a truly valuable ally in daily work.
Overall: Overall, Components Engine is a professional and very powerful solution. It requires some initial effort and familiarity with the sector, but the long-term benefits are clear: it speeds up processes, reduces errors, and makes everything clearer and more organized.

"Simplified digital spare parts portal integration" Edited 2026-01-24
Pros: Components Engine allowed us to quickly digitize all our historical data and old catalogs in PDF/WORD/EXCEL format, using automatic import and digitization procedures and functions. The web portal became operational in a short time. We then activated all the connectors for integration with SAGE to have all data synchronized with our ERP in real time, especially pricing and order simulation, to give customers accurate delivery times and overall order costs. The editor integrated into the solution allowed us to correct and update “outdated” drawings and bring them into line with the new codes.
Cons: No problems, solution (product + delivery) met expectations, we met our deadlines and PKI defined at the start of the project.
Overall: I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a partner that can support and “put up with” customers with a wide and varied range of material recovery needs. The delivery/technical support staff in particular have always been helpful, demonstrating considerable analytical and support skills in addition to their normal software support activities.

"3D is redefining after-sales parts catalogues" Posted 2026-01-19
Pros: The adoption of Components Engine has marked a significant evolution in the way we manage our spare parts catalogues, primarily thanks to the seamless integration of 3D models with BOM data. With just a few clicks, part codes, descriptions, and quantities are automatically and accurately linked, ensuring data consistency and drastically reducing the need for manual verification.
The exploded 3D views are not only visually effective, but also fully aligned with the original design structure. This makes navigation intuitive and immediate, even for users without CAD expertise, greatly enhancing the understanding of assemblies and the identification of individual components. As a result, collaboration between the technical department, service teams, and customers has been noticeably improved, streamlining and accelerating the entire spare parts search process.Cons: Overall, the user experience has been extremely smooth and intuitive. The available tools have met our expectations without presenting any significant challenges. While there is always room for future enhancements, we have not encountered any technical issues or critical limitations to date.
Overall: The solution has enabled us to create an interactive spare parts portal directly from Inventor 3D models, fully integrated with our PDM system and SAP, delivering a robust and efficient after-sales support platform.

"An advanced, user-friendly, and customizable after-sales solution" Posted 2026-01-16
Pros: Components Engine is a web-based platform designed to build interactive 2D and 3D spare parts catalogs without the need to open the CAD software. It supports both raster and vector drawings and allows great flexibility in managing parts lists by uploading a wide range of content, including texts, translations, images, technical documents, and price lists in multiple currencies, all dynamically linked to clickable areas of the drawings.
The system is equipped with powerful search filters and a built-in shopping cart, making it quick and intuitive to identify products, select spare parts, and access related documentation with minimal effort.
Another key advantage is the platform’s ability to seamlessly integrate with existing company systems such as ERP, CRM, and e-commerce solutions. Through both standard and custom integration protocols, Components Engine enables smoother data exchange and more efficient internal workflows.
The outcome is a comprehensive, easy-to-use, and constantly updated online spare parts catalog that delivers tangible benefits: 24/7 availability, increased customer independence, shorter order processing times, and reduced internal management costs.Cons: There are no significant drawbacks to highlight. After a short learning curve, the software performs exactly as expected, and whenever assistance is needed, the Components Engine support team is responsive and highly professional.
Overall: Components Engine is a powerful after-sales tool that helps save time, minimize errors, and enhance communication between companies and their customers. It provides measurable efficiency gains and a real competitive edge!

"Enhanced SVGs from SolidWorks Composer with Components Engine" Edited 2026-01-08
Pros: I use SolidWorks Composer to generate technical drawings and detailed representations of my products. The transition from these SVG files to creating an interactive parts catalogue has always been the weak link in the process... until I tried Components Engine. The software allows me to easily import vector SVGs, making each dot clickable and linked to part codes with a semi-automatic workflow.
This integration from SVG to interactive catalogue is really smooth: not only can I associate each call-out with the lines of the bill of materials, but I can also publish the result on the web or in offline format in a professional manner. The result is a catalogue that displays the technical drawing with interactive dots and an automatically generated bill of materials, ready for order creation.Cons: As with other vector import tools, if the SVG file is complex or contains unusual graphic details (transparency effects or gradients), it may take a little longer to import. However, the process is extremely smooth and fast.
Overall: The combination of SolidWorks Composer and Components Engine allowed me to transform technical SVG files into interactive spare parts catalogues with very little effort. This not only improved the quality of my catalogues, but also greatly simplified communication with customers.

"A fully integrated 3D platform for B.O.M., CAD data, and secure web access" Posted 2025-12-29
Pros: I have been using the 3D version of Components Engine and what I appreciate most is how effectively it integrates with existing enterprise systems, making it a truly solid solution for managing complex technical data. The integration with the PDM for B.O.M. management is particularly valuable. Bills of materials are imported in a structured and reliable way, ensuring consistency with engineering data and reducing manual intervention. This allows me to work with always up-to-date information, improving accuracy and minimizing errors across departments.
Another strong point is the automatic import of technical drawings directly from the CAD environment. Drawings are linked to components without additional steps, streamlining documentation management and significantly reducing the time needed to prepare complete and coherent technical content. Finally, the integration of the web portal with SAP via the SAML2 protocol is a key advantage from an IT and security perspective. Single SignOn simplifies user access while maintaining high security standards, making the platform easy to adopt within a corporate ecosystem already based on SAP.Cons: Components Engine 3D is a technologically advanced product, and we haven't found anything particularly dissatisfying in its core functionalities. The integration of CAD, PDM, and SAP systems is handled with a modern and innovative approach, showcasing a solid technical architecture. While the system performs exactly as promised without any evident flaws, the overall experience is very straightforward: it is a reliable solution for those seeking technical innovation.
Overall: My experience with Components Engine 3D has been excellent, particularly regarding its ability to bridge the gap between engineering and after-sales.
