The easy-to-load USB Flash Drive includes detailed United States cartography including Raster Charts, Photo Charts, Topographic Maps, and 3D Contour Charts, as well as a full array of software tools to help you plan and enjoy your time on the water. View your real-time GPS position right on the PC screen. All it requires is connecting an industry-standard NMEA 0183 GPS. Connect an AIS to the computer along with your GPS and you can plot other vessels’ positions as well as your own. Overlay or warp your raster charts to our 3D charts. Get the same view on screen that you see at the helm. Buoys flash in correct sequence.

Marine Vessel Traffic
To provide users with accurate and actionable data, MarineVesselTraffic.com uses real-time filtering and analysis combined with post-processing. The chaotic raw data flow is filtered down to 30 million positions each day, one position per ship, per minute. As a rule of thumb, in-range vessels will be updated on a 60-second basis (1 position report per MMSI per minute). The Live Map (and the other website pages) update accordingly. You can pan and zoom in the usual ways, and skip back and forward in time using the timeline at the bottom of the screen. The controls at the top right let you show and hide different map layers, port names, the background map, routes (a plot of all recorded vessel positions), and the animated ships view. There are also controls for filtering and colouring by vessel type. The merchant fleet is divided into five categories, each of which has a filter and a CO2 and freight counter for the hour shown on the clock.
