About

Whelm is a suite of free tools, built specifically for freelancers. With work-in-progress media reviews, invoicing, contract templates, e-signatures, and project management built into the platform, freelancers no longer need 5 different apps to run their business. We are the ideal software solution for freelance videographers, motion designers, video editors, audio producers, voice over actors, animators, graphic designers, copywriters, and more. Anyone who needs an all-in-one solution will love the benefits that Whelm provides. What makes us different or better than the incumbents like Frame .io, HoneyBook, or others? Whelm's all-in-one solution not only makes it easy to get client feedback, but also manage your entire business from one app, saving you time and money. Our users save an average of $600+ annually compared to creating paid profiles with 4-5 separate business management and media review softwares.

About

chimping.io is a post-production workflow service for freelance filmmakers, editors, colorists, and small production teams. It combines video review, file transfer, project-folder sync, and master delivery. Clients review cuts through private links and leave timecoded comments, which can be transferred to a DaVinci Resolve timeline as markers with the companion Resolve app. The Mac app supports large, resumable folder transfers. Project Sync keeps a project folder synchronized across team members while retaining its structure. Users can send files to collaborators, receive renders through links, and deliver password-protected masters. Recipients can access shared links without creating an account. Its rough-cut feature uses video transcripts to assemble story-ordered radio cuts for export to DaVinci Resolve or Premiere. Monthly plans include set amounts of storage, review time, encoding, transfers, and rough cuts, with tiers for solo filmmakers and production teams.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Very helpful for collecting feedback from clients, saves me from the awkward video call feedback session. Having access to an invoicing tool as well as contract templates saves me a lot of time as well, so I like that. It's a fairly seamless experience once you're onboarded fully.

Cons

  • It seems the company is still pretty small and young, so I there have been some bugs with the growing pains. But they've been really responsive any time I've seen a bug reported.
