Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • - SoundCloud has a lot of underrated artists and various types of music on their platform. - The user interface of the application is clean and easy to use. - It is available on all the platforms. - The output quality of the songs is high and crystal clear to hear. - There are a lot of curated playlists available according to moods.
  • - SoundCloud is easy and intuitive to use. - It is a good platform to get started as an artist. - There are millions of songs and beats present on the platform. - The platform is ad-free.
  • I’ve been using it to start hosting some of my audio files for music and podcasts. It’s a great place to get started because their free version allows you to still upload a decent amount without any issue.
  • Soundcloud is the place to go to find the latest original works (tracks and podcasts), remixes, and samples. Its automated copyright detection system ensures that the audio files you can find are novel, and many up and coming artists got their start on Soundcloud. There is also what feels like a rudimentary social network system that you can use to find similar artists based on how they interact via comments and votes.
  • The free version has a cap with how many minutes you can upload, but the amount they allow is pretty generous and enough to test it out. Combined with some social media presence elsewhere, and this is a great place to upload your music or other audio. It's easy to upload, and you can choose whether or not someone can download your tracks.

Cons

  • - It ticks all the checkmarks and does not lack in any category. No cons in my opinion.
  • - The output sound quality on SoundCloud is average.
  • I mean, the limits for the basic version are not ideal. You only get 4 GB per month which is about 3 hours. This means a ton for music creators, but for podcast creators that can be limiting, depending on the length and frequency of your podcast episodes.
  • The interface on desktop wasn't the most intuitive for me. I endured feeling like I was at risk of going deaf for a few months before finally figuring out how to change the volume on individual tracks...
  • It's not as popular as YouTube, and I find Bandcamp is much better for finding specific, niche things. Soundcloud, like all the popular sites is also oversaturated with people so you really need to work to make yourself stand out from everyone else. Likewise, on the audience end, it's a mess to find something worth listening to.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • The main feature that I liked about this platform is the wide variety of songs that are available within this music platform. I highlight this positive aspect because I have used several music platforms in which there are some well-known songs that are not registered within those platforms, but that does not happen within Spotify, that platform has many songs registered, even those that are very little known. I also liked the way this platform works. In the background, it is able to resume music, when it no longer detects that there is any type of video or audio playing within the device, that means that you can perform other tasks within your device, while listening to music, and the platform will automatically resume the audio track. I also love the general interface of Spotify, it is quite comfortable and allows me to play any type of song, in a very simple way, the search engine works perfectly and the general interface is quite comfortable.
  • The ability to create custom playlists, share them and produce collaborative playlists. The variety of the catalog is extraordinary and the rankings by country are also available.
  • There was nothing good about Spotify. This so-called free app is not free at all but just a scam and nothing but a cheap promotional trick to get your money. They let you use it for three days and then they block your use and delete your playlist if you don't pay the ransom and buy an expensive subscription.
  • Spotify boasts an impressive collection of songs, artists, and genres, ensuring there's something for everyone. The app's intuitive design makes it easy to navigate, allowing users to find and organize their favourite music effortlessly. The algorithm-driven playlists, like Discover Weekly, provide a delightful way to discover new music tailored to individual preferences. Seamless synchronization across devices ensures a consistent music experience whether on a smartphone, desktop, or tablet.
  • I have used Spotify, and, the best feature is the large library of the available songs on the platform. Other than that it also streams the music in lossless format which is the highest quality. The subscription price is also nominal.

Cons

  • My main criticism for this platform is about its free trial, the free trial only lasts for a week, I must point out that I used this free trial for only a few days, then I had to upgrade my account to a paid plan. The free trial is quite limited, it does not allow you to correctly select the song you want to listen to, it only allows you to access various playlists or song radios. In addition, the free version also has quite a few ads, which makes it a bit difficult to listen to music, smoothly and without interruptions, these ads take approximately 30 seconds, it is quite annoying.
  • The price is a little expensive, I would prefer there to be the option to get a discount by signing up for an annual subscription.
  • I used this so-called free Spotify app for a few days then found out it wasn't free at all. There is actually no free version of Spotify. All my hard work making an amazing playlist was deleted and I was blocked from using the app until I paid a ransom subscription because it wasn't free at all. There was no way I was going to pay for such lousy streaming quality for songs that break up and drop out and are just of exceedingly low sound quality. The app lacks any features for updating and rearranging the order of your playlist etc. Spotify is a very basic bare bones app and definitely not worth paying for.
  • While the overall sound quality is good, some users may notice a slight variance in audio quality, especially on lower-tiered subscription plans. The restriction on the number of offline downloads can be a drawback for users who want extensive offline access without a premium subscription. While Discover Weekly is fantastic, other personalized playlists may not always hit the mark, occasionally leading to repetitive or less relevant recommendations.
  • The web application user interface feels and bit cluttered is not as good and as the mobile application's UI.
