Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros 1. Exceptional customer service 2. Quite intuitive and easy to use 3. Highly configurable per business needs Excellent MES system that is easy to configure and support. End user support is excellent from the company! This out of the box MES solution is easy to implement and versatile when configuring. The ideal solution for process control, tool interlock, traceability, data collection / retention and the integration of other devices such as PLC's, torque positioning arms, etc. Overall, the support is top notch, and the software is world class. Our company has been utilizing the PINpoint MES software since 2012. We have multiple assembly lines configured utilizing the software. Incorporation of the software on our lines ensures our engines are produced to specification as the product is configured within the PINpoint system. Ensuring the key critical data is stored for each engine produced is valuable for our business. We continue to incorporate the PINpoint MES software on our newest assembly lines ensuring we produce the highest quality products for our customers. Everything is traceable! From the moment the user logs in, every move is managed and controlled using PINpoint to interlock our Digitally Monitored Torque Tooling (DMTT) with PINpoint socket trays. Everything from printing shipping labels, pin stamping a part, using a digital gage to record a shafts endplay measurement, to monitoring and recording every fastening completed within the facility. Production problems are traceable using the available built-in ANDON system with easily configured buttons, text messaging to 1st responders, everything is documented and timestamped. No more guessing or exaggerating downtimes within your workstations. PINpoint's easily configurable and puts you in complete control of your process while giving you up to the second data of all operations as they happen on the shop floor Cons Some configurations are still a bit manual which causes some concerns on sustainability when scaling up and initial setup. Nothing so far! I think the only thing that I would like to see is iOS and Android support. The Pinpoint software in previous versions had some flaws, but the latest version seems flawless thus far. To allow for unique process functionality, each product has to be configured individually. In the future it would be beneficial to have a template we would input our system information into that would upload for ease of configuration. Multi-level and department system support is required with controls for the PLC for communication. Software licensing and maintenance fees to be considered in overall project planning ensuring cost justification considerations are met. As a 1st responder supporting multiple facilities (280+ work stations with 400 DMTTs), the inconsistencies in the way things are named or referred to from one site to another needs to be standardized. While naming is in the user’s control and not really a PINpoint issue, the thing that would benefit a large company rolling out PINpoint across multiple facilities would be to develop a "Standardized Naming Convention" for process steps, fastening steps, tooling, tooling types, production lines, work stations, data managers, and devices before starting. Standardize EVERYTHING!! This way the support team from one site can actually help support multiple sites without ever actually being there in person because they know by a tool or device's name... what it actually is without ever laying eyes on it		Pros from Real Users Pros This product makes the job easier and faster. I can see all the manufacturing assembly lines on my workstation Excellent. Detailed workflow capture, training on analytics for our daily, weekly and monthly results. Excellent tool to support our efficiency progression.
