About

OpenText Functional Testing is an AI-powered automation tool that accelerates functional and regression testing across a wide range of enterprise applications. It supports testing for desktop, web, mobile, mainframe, composite, and packaged apps, covering both UI and API layers. The platform leverages AI-based machine learning and advanced OCR for robust object recognition and natural language scripting. It enables cross-browser testing by allowing scripts to run seamlessly across multiple browser types and versions. Parallel testing capabilities speed up execution by running multiple tests simultaneously and integrating with CI/CD pipelines. OpenText Functional Testing promotes collaboration through reusable actions and supports a fully integrated DevOps toolchain.

About

Testifly is a web-based autonomous QA and end-to-end testing platform for teams that need to check web applications without building and maintaining test scripts. Users connect an application URL and, when needed, test credentials; Testifly discovers pages and user flows, creates automated tests, and runs them on a schedule, across releases, and through CI/CD pipelines. The platform adapts tests when application behavior or interface elements change, and provides run results, session video, and failure analysis. Teams can organize tests by features and suites, monitor test coverage, and connect work items from Jira, Linear, or Notion. Slack notifications and MCP access support development workflows, while the Test Execution API can trigger runs from CI/CD systems. Plans include cloud use, with on-premises or self-hosted execution options on qualifying plans.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • 1) AI based Testing (very easy to use) 2) Mobile testing (For note this sites says it doe not support which it does) 3) Automation Object Model 4) It does support the following : .NET 5 and 6 AG Grid, AutoPass, Bamboo , Delphi, Java (Oracle Java SE 19, OpenJDK 19, Zulu OpenJDK, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, SAP, Stingray, JAVA 5) I do like how you have different ways to attack automation, you can use code using VB script, you can record & Play, you can use spy object, you can use AI script, you can use images... etc.

Cons

  • It is a resource hog. They should improve performance. There will be performance degradation on the test environment due to long continuous executions of automation scripts which leads to inconsistency of results, a better way to resolve this problem should be addressed at some point.
