NetOwl NameMatcher, the winner of the MITRE Multicultural Name Matching Challenge, offers the most accurate, fast, and scalable name matching available. Using a revolutionary machine learning-based approach, NetOwl addresses complex fuzzy name matching challenges. Traditional name matching approaches, such as Soundex, edit distance, and rule-based methods, suffer from both precision (false positives) and recall (false negative) problems in addressing the variety of fuzzy name matching challenges discussed above. NetOwl applies an empirically driven, machine learning-based probabilistic approach to name matching challenges. It derives intelligent, probabilistic name matching rules automatically from large-scale, real-world, multi-ethnicity name variant data. ONESOURCE Denied Party Screening securely automates the screening of customers, suppliers, and partners against more than 750 global restricted‑party and sanctions lists, integrating directly with import/export management systems to block transactions when a match is found. It maintains seamless compliance through daily updates of global lists and a content‑validation process conducted in collaboration with government agencies. Screening can be tailored by selecting relevant lists and defining custom match‑score thresholds to align with specific risk parameters, while advanced matching logic, leveraging over 30 data elements such as name, date of birth, location, and citizenship, minimizes false positives. The solution enhances transaction security by vetting supply‑chain participants according to U.S. State and Commerce best practices, uncovers complex ownership structures via Dow Jones sanctions‑ownership research, and extends due diligence to Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs).
