About

Crushes cyberthreats. Restores confidence. Traditional antivirus simply doesn't cut it anymore. Malwarebytes crushes the latest threats before others even recognize they exist. We block viruses, malware, malicious websites, ransomware, and hackers that traditional antivirus isn't smart enough to stop. Our cutting-edge protection and response solutions are used by organizations of all sizes around the world. Traditional antivirus fails because it’s slow to react to new threats. And, well, because it’s “dumb.” We use layers of technology like anomaly detection (a cool sort of artificial intelligence), behavior matching, and application hardening to crush malware that hasn’t even been seen before. Alright, so not really like traditional antivirus. Premium protection and privacy for your home computers and devices. Enterprise-grade protection and remediation for organizations large and small.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Malwarebytes has been my go to anti-malware solution for many years. I've used all of the other big name AV products and without exception Malwarebytes simply performs better. It finds all kinds of malicious content and provides preventative web browser protection. It works in the background and doesn't take a lot of resources.
  • Helps you prevent viruses and helps you get rid of the ones you might already have. It has great detection and doesn't bog down your PC.
  • It is a successful software, which is at the forefront of security and control of applications so that there are no virus or hacker leaks in the system. Its interface is simple; it has few but exact tools. The price is incredible; it is not expensive. For every new file that enters our platform, the software takes care of scanning it and identifying any problem.
  • Our company has seen the acquisition and implementation of Malwarebytes as an ultimate solution against enemy threats from malware to ransomware. I liked the practical form of protection it provides for our files and computers in general, as well as its user-friendly interface and ease of use.
  • It's got a free version and it's easy to use. If you have basically no non-default programs downloaded to your computer, it'll probably work alright. I really don't have anything else positive to say about it other than that.

Cons

  • Their premium product does a fantastic job of managing systems continuously in the background and is a reasonable price. The cost to manage multiple systems from one interface is considerably higher making it out of reach for most small businesses. It would be great if they offered multiple computer management at a more reasonable price.
  • It constantly tries to upsell you on the premium version.
  • The support is terrible, there is no way to communicate with an expert in any circumstance, but luckily the program is intuitive.
  • Malwarebytes has been quite beneficial to our workgroup. Depending on your computer, it tends to slow down a bit due to the resources it takes up during operation.
  • Every few years, I give this program another go after tons and tons of recs about how it's so much better than this or that, and every time, I'm deleting it the same day again for the same reason. This thing is so sensitive it thinks nearly anything is malware, including itself sometimes! Here are a list of other programs this thing has decided are malware: Evernote, Notepad++, Rainmeter, all Iobit products, pretty much any other malware detecting products out there, Microsoft Edge once, Discord, all Abode products, Firefox, Chrome, Skype, the default sticky note program on Windows, various art software, and naturally, itself. Meanwhile, it never finds whatever the issue is on the computer while other malware protection easily does. I'm baffled. It's like I'm somehow using a completely different program than everyone else because I've never gotten the amazing results everyone raves about.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • 1. Can be deployed to all the endpoints including the Servers and supports most of the OS platforms 2. Triaging can be done which is very useful for identifying and remediation of the security incidents 3. Discovery of Asset and Software inventory is really a good feature
  • SentinelOne automatically recognizes, evaluates, and neutralizes ransomware and zero-day attacks using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. It can better detect unknown threats because it doesn't only rely on signature-based detection. Through a single dashboard, Singularity offers consolidated visibility into the security state of every endpoint throughout the company.
  • Utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to detect and prevent advanced threats in real-time. Uses behavioral analysis to identify and block suspicious activities and malware, even those that are previously unseen or zero-day. Offers automated response capabilities to contain and remediate threats without human intervention, reducing response times and minimizing damage. Built on a cloud-native architecture, facilitating scalability and allowing organizations to manage endpoints efficiently from a centralized console. Offers continuous monitoring and support, ensuring timely response to security events and proactive protection against emerging threats.
  • SentinelOne provides full visibility across all endpoints, including servers, cloud environments, and mobile devices. This unified approach helps organizations identify threats and vulnerabilities wherever they occur. SentinelOne's Singularity platform automatically responds to detected threats by isolating affected devices, blocking malicious processes, or rolling back systems to a safe stat without requiring human intervention.
  • SentinelOne uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to automatically detect, analyze, and respond to threats in real time. This autonomous approach reduces the need for manual intervention and accelerates the time to response, preventing damage from cyber attacks. SentinelOne extends beyond endpoint protection by integrating with other security tools, giving businesses a more holistic view of their security posture across networks, cloud, and identity systems. In the event of ransomware or other destructive attacks, SentinelOne can automatically roll back endpoints to their pre-attack state, minimizing downtime and data loss.

Cons

  • 1.Hash values for adding IOC's were not able to add in bulk 2.Scheduling the AV scanning feature is not readily available which is available a manual scan
  • While SentinelOne interacts with a wide range of security technologies (e.g., SIEM platforms, firewalls), its integration ecosystem may be less extensive than those of larger manufacturers, which might be a constraint for companies with complicated IT systems. In rare situations, older or less capable hardware may suffer from more visible performance concerns as a result of SentinelOne's advanced features. However, this is not usually an issue with newer hardware.
  • SentinelOne Singularity can be relatively expensive compared to traditional antivirus solutions, especially for smaller organizations or those with limited budgets. While SentinelOne supports a wide range of operating systems and platforms, there may be compatibility issues with certain legacy systems or specific configurations.
  • SentinelOne provides a large volume of alerts, they can sometimes lack sufficient context or granularity. For security teams dealing with a high volume of alerts, it can become difficult to quickly assess whether an alert is truly critical or a false positive without deeper investigation.
  • SentinelOne can present a steep learning curve for smaller organizations or teams with limited cybersecurity expertise. Effectively configuring, managing, and interpreting the results from Singularity may require a level of experience that smaller IT teams may lack. SentinelOne can provide significant value through its AI-driven features, it may be cost-prohibitive for smaller companies or those with constrained budgets.
