Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I did not find any reason to use this website. Initially i registered it because of its domain name. It seemed legit. But its a crap
  • Mail.com is the best email service if you are speedrunning getting your account banned without breaking any rules. My personal best is 2 seconds, and no other email provider has even come close!
  • None. There is nothing positive. There is nothing good. They are terrible. Do not use this. They will hurt you & will not care.
  • N/A.
  • Everything was ok apart from being bombarded with endless ads simply because i chose not to pay for premium.

Cons

  • They refuse to delete accounts. When I asked to close mine, they said they would only "block" it and that the timeline for actual deletion is "uncertain." They also demand the exact date you created your account just to process the request, which nobody remembers. This service traps your data and likely violates EU privacy laws. Avoid at all costs.
  • They do not value privacy (you are not allowed to use a VPN or your email will be permanently blocked and deleted, even though this is mentioned nowhere in their terms of service OR in the sign-up process). Your data is at their mercy. They can (and WILL) decide at random to just delete your account because of some arbitrary rule you broke that isn't listed anywhere on their website. Do not use mail.com for anything other than creating junk email accounts, because anything important can be deleted at any time with zero chance of recovery. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. If you send them a message to try to restore your account, you receive back a generic message saying "We can't tell you what rule you broke, but you're screwed. We take ourselves very seriously and so we refuse to provide the one service we offer. Have a nice day and gfys!"
  • Everything! Don't use this e-mail service. They are cold blooded. Deleted my account because I didn't sign in enough. Refused to help me. I have been locked out of Facebook & Amazon account for years because of them! Many others have the same experience. Do yourself a favor & just don't use them! Do not add them to anything important that you value. They do not care about you & I wish I never used Mail.com.
  • Account was closed by their mail.com system with out any notice and all of our emails and data were cancelled
  • Suddenly blocked my account after many years and i have now lost hundreds of important contacts and endless amounts of saved data. They now ignore my emails and when they did respond it was pretty much tough luck.

Pros from Real Users

Pros

  • All tools in one place — Mail, Drive, VPN, Calendar — make work simple and efficient. Seamless sync across devices keeps everything smooth and effortless, with flexible plans for any need.
  • Trustworthy service from Switzerland. So its Europe. proton meets all legal requirements, so it is perfect for business. Availability is very good.
  • I like the fact that it was constructed around account safety and it has a fresh interface. It has a lot of features and it is quite affordable for regular users.
  • - Easy to use, - Open source, - Possible to use with a custom domain (requires a premium subscription), - Privacy orientated (something truly rare these days!)
  • The web client is great for all my needs, and ProtonMail is a privacy-respecting e-mail provider, based on Switzerland.
  • The # draw is that this is a secure, privacy-focused email alternative. It also has a very sleek interface.
  • Can encrypt if you want, or not. All settings are available and it is easy to set up everything. Have a free version that I am currently using and it is not restricted in any way. Allows for two-factor authorization.
  • ProtonMail offers encrypted emails, so it's a good option for those looking for a more private, secure email service compared to the bigger ones out there like Gmail and Outlook. It's got fairly priced options, and the free version isn't too bad either.
  • I love that my emails are end to end encrypted. I found out that Gmail reads my emails and I quickly signed up for the free version.
  • Open source Easy to use Good security and privacy Multi level security and encryption Free tier Mobile version alongside web version
