About

Mac malware removal is essential these days. Malware authors are targeting Apple's macOS with increasing frequency and, although there’s more Mac malware activity now than ever before, many users are still unprotected against these threats. MacScan protects your mac from malware, scanning and removing it for much-needed security and privacy. MacScan 3 can seek out and destroy privacy threats such as blocklisted tracking cookies, leaving the rest of your browsing data in place, or free up valuable hard drive space by locating and removing unnecessary files left behind by web browsers. All of this is in addition to removing malware threats. An easy-to-use interface provides complete control over malware scans, featuring drag-and-drop scanning, a customizable cookie blocklist and allowlist, logs of previous scan results and activity, and more.

About

Crushes cyberthreats. Restores confidence. Traditional antivirus simply doesn't cut it anymore. Malwarebytes crushes the latest threats before others even recognize they exist. We block viruses, malware, malicious websites, ransomware, and hackers that traditional antivirus isn't smart enough to stop. Our cutting-edge protection and response solutions are used by organizations of all sizes around the world. Traditional antivirus fails because it’s slow to react to new threats. And, well, because it’s “dumb.” We use layers of technology like anomaly detection (a cool sort of artificial intelligence), behavior matching, and application hardening to crush malware that hasn’t even been seen before. Alright, so not really like traditional antivirus. Premium protection and privacy for your home computers and devices. Enterprise-grade protection and remediation for organizations large and small.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Malwarebytes has been my go to anti-malware solution for many years. I've used all of the other big name AV products and without exception Malwarebytes simply performs better. It finds all kinds of malicious content and provides preventative web browser protection. It works in the background and doesn't take a lot of resources.
  • Helps you prevent viruses and helps you get rid of the ones you might already have. It has great detection and doesn't bog down your PC.
  • It is a successful software, which is at the forefront of security and control of applications so that there are no virus or hacker leaks in the system. Its interface is simple; it has few but exact tools. The price is incredible; it is not expensive. For every new file that enters our platform, the software takes care of scanning it and identifying any problem.
  • Our company has seen the acquisition and implementation of Malwarebytes as an ultimate solution against enemy threats from malware to ransomware. I liked the practical form of protection it provides for our files and computers in general, as well as its user-friendly interface and ease of use.
  • It's got a free version and it's easy to use. If you have basically no non-default programs downloaded to your computer, it'll probably work alright. I really don't have anything else positive to say about it other than that.

Cons

  • Their premium product does a fantastic job of managing systems continuously in the background and is a reasonable price. The cost to manage multiple systems from one interface is considerably higher making it out of reach for most small businesses. It would be great if they offered multiple computer management at a more reasonable price.
  • It constantly tries to upsell you on the premium version.
  • The support is terrible, there is no way to communicate with an expert in any circumstance, but luckily the program is intuitive.
  • Malwarebytes has been quite beneficial to our workgroup. Depending on your computer, it tends to slow down a bit due to the resources it takes up during operation.
  • Every few years, I give this program another go after tons and tons of recs about how it's so much better than this or that, and every time, I'm deleting it the same day again for the same reason. This thing is so sensitive it thinks nearly anything is malware, including itself sometimes! Here are a list of other programs this thing has decided are malware: Evernote, Notepad++, Rainmeter, all Iobit products, pretty much any other malware detecting products out there, Microsoft Edge once, Discord, all Abode products, Firefox, Chrome, Skype, the default sticky note program on Windows, various art software, and naturally, itself. Meanwhile, it never finds whatever the issue is on the computer while other malware protection easily does. I'm baffled. It's like I'm somehow using a completely different program than everyone else because I've never gotten the amazing results everyone raves about.
