About

Lyria 3.5 is Google’s newest AI music generation model, designed to help people create richer, high-fidelity tracks with greater musical and technical control. Available in Google Flow Music, it advances musicality with more natural, complex melodic structures and a stronger understanding of rhythm, arrangement, tempo, dynamics, and more. Enhanced lyric generation improves prompt adherence and structural awareness, while upgraded vocals add more realistic expression, emotional nuance, and clearer pronunciation. Users can begin with a simple idea or provide detailed instructions for genre, instrumentation, mood, key, tempo, vocal style, language, and production character, then refine the sound they want. Lyria 3.5 supports variable song lengths, allowing creators to request a quick 60-second clip, a half-length track, or a cohesive song lasting up to three minutes. It can generate music across global languages and genres, from pop, funk, and R&B to reggaeton, jazz, and electronic music.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Sonilo's API and MCP integration options are appealing for applications that already work with video. Having music generation and sound-effects capabilities available through an existing service could save developers from having to build all the audio-generation functionality themselves. It offers an interesting way to extend a creative application with additional audio features.
  • I like that Sonilo's API can generate music based on video footage and create sound effects that follow the action. The ability to request music and effects together is useful for applications that need to add audio to video content. It also offers an opportunity to reduce some of the manual work involved in preparing audio for repeated production tasks.
  • The video translation and dubbing features are particularly interesting for educational content. Being able to create versions of existing videos in other languages could help course creators reach more learners without having to rebuild every lesson from scratch. Reusing existing video material can make the process of preparing localized content more manageable.
  • Sonilo is an interesting option for adding music and sound effects to product demonstrations and promotional videos. I like the idea of starting with the finished video and generating audio to match it. This can save time compared with searching through music libraries and manually adjusting tracks to fit the footage.
  • I like that Sonilo generates music around the video's content and length. It saves time that would otherwise go into searching audio libraries and adjusting tracks to fit an edit. Having music and sound effects available in the same workflow is also useful, especially when preparing videos for advertising campaigns.

Cons

  • I'd appreciate clearer documentation explaining which features are available through each integration and how the setup differs. More end-to-end examples showing how to request audio, review the result, and incorporate it into an application would also make implementation easier.
  • The different response patterns for music and sound-effects requests require some extra handling during integration. Music responses stream back, while sound-effects requests require checking a task until it's complete. A more consistent approach would make the development process simpler.
  • I'd like to see support for longer videos when using translation and dubbing features. Educational lessons often include detailed explanations and examples, so a higher video length limit would make the workflow more convenient for courses that require longer recordings.
  • I'd like more than two options to choose from when generating music and sound effects for a video. Having additional variations would make it easier to find something that matches the product and brand without needing as many adjustments.
  • Sometimes I want more control over the final audio, particularly when a campaign needs a specific sound. Text prompts for generating music and sound effects are helpful, but I'd still appreciate more ways to fine-tune the results.
