About

LinkSentry protects websites and their users from harmful, broken, or unwanted external links through continuous monitoring and advanced scanning. It detects malicious threats like malware, phishing, NSFW content, expired domains, and parked sites in real time. The platform is simple to set up with a JavaScript snippet or WordPress plugin, requiring no technical expertise. Businesses can configure smart policies to customize detection, ensuring full control over link monitoring. Alerts are delivered instantly through Slack or email, alongside detailed dashboards and weekly reports for transparency. By preventing broken or dangerous links from damaging user trust, LinkSentry helps companies safeguard their reputation and revenue.

About

MetaCert’s Zero Trust browser software reduces the risk of organizations being compromised with a phishing-led cyberattack by more than 98%. Blocking dangerous URLs and dangerous websites is important, but it’s not enough. Every leading security company with a “threat intelligence system” is focused on detecting and blocking known malicious URLs. Like other companies, MetaCert owns a database of malicious URLs. When a dangerous link gets through existing security solutions, you are left to use your intuition, you must guess which links are safe and which websites you can trust. However, even organizations that implement security solutions from multiple vendors are still exposed with this legacy approach. We use the best of modern URL classification technology that we built internally, to tell you which links are safe, and which websites you can actually trust. With millions of URLs verified as safe, our software reduces the risk of all cyberattacks that start with dangerous URLs.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • LinkSentry’s real-time monitoring effectively catches malicious, NSFW, and broken links across our school network’s websites, preventing repeats of past issues with inappropriate content. The javascript snippet was easy to add, and the customizable policies allow precise alert tuning. The dashboards provide clear, actionable insights, ensuring our sites remain secure and trustworthy.
  • I have used broken-link checkers for close to a decade now. I switched to LinkSentry when I realized that it can detect not just broken links, but many more kinds of unwanted content, like links to adult websites, and links that redirect to other sites when visited. Moreover, the tool was able to find many more broken links than previous tools (I believe this is because of the JS library that it uses).
  • LinkSentry continuously monitors external links for security threats, giving us confidence that our site is protected. It’s reliable and does exactly what it promises.

Cons

  • The detailed email reports, while comprehensive, can be overwhelming. A concise summary option would better suit my team's workflow. Considering the Slack integration upgrade for faster alerts.
  • I wish that LinkSentry could do something about the broken links other than flag them to me. Maybe remove them (if possible) or warn my users not to click on them.
  • No major drawbacks so far. Would love to see even more integrations in the future.
