Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Pricing model Excellent source of independent / self paced learning (Inductive University) Ease of use with minimal formal training Free full version of software (2 hour time out on clients) Versatility Interoperability Seamless Database and PLC integration Greatly reduced development time Excellent Tech support ( Knowledgeable and helpful) Infinitely versatile scripting functionality ******The Ignition platform is capable of performing ANY business software function. With an intermediate level knowledge of python / java / SQL you can create the modules and scripting functions to provide limitless functionality. Flexible, performant, smart, really helps developers, pricing is really good, licencing is very easy. Cons Possibly the cost of support when using multiple instances of Ignition at a single facility. I will update this when I have heard back from Ignition support. Ignition had a wonderful in person training program pre-covid. But there is talk of not starting it back up and pushing everything to virtual online training. If this occurs it would be a BIG con for me. When it comes to getting the most out of training I don't think there is any comparison between in person and online learning. In person wins every time. There is not much to dislike about Ignition. I have not seen anything better on the market.
