About

Filebase is the first S3-compatible object storage platform that allows you to store data in a secure, redundant, and performant manner across multiple decentralized storage networks. Filebase offers a geo-redundant IPFS pinning service that allows you to pin files to IPFS across multiple diverse geographic locations. All files uploaded to IPFS through Filebase are automatically pinned to the Filebase infrastructure with 3x replication across the globe. This ensures that your data is globally available and redundant at all times. Filebase acts as an easy on-ramp to IPFS and decentralized storage by offering a user-friendly web console dashboard, making drag-and-dropping files onto Web3 simple and easy. Filebase also provides an S3-compatible API for widespread integrations and configurations in current workflows.

About

Object storage for companies of all sizes. Store any amount of data. Retrieve it as often as you’d like. Configure your data with Object Lifecycle Management (OLM) to automatically transition to lower-cost storage classes when it meets the criteria you specify, such as when it reaches a certain age or when you’ve stored a newer version of the data. Cloud Storage has an ever-growing list of storage bucket locations where you can store your data with multiple automatic redundancy options. Whether you are optimizing for split-second response time, or creating a robust disaster recovery plan, customize where and how you store your data. Storage Transfer Service and Transfer Service for on-premises data offer two highly performant, online pathways to Cloud Storage—both with the scalability and speed you need to simplify the data transfer process. For offline data transfer our Transfer Appliance is a shippable storage server.

Pricing

$20/month for IPFS Storage
Filebase is a free-to-use platform for all users.

All users can store up to 5GB of data, with a maximum of 1,000 individual files, on the IPFS network with no credit card required.

Filebase offers 3 tiers of paid subscription plans: Starter, Pro, and Business.

These subscription tiers are for the IPFS network and do not include storage on the Sia network.

For creating buckets and storing data on the Sia network, the Sia Decentralized Storage Plan is required. There is no free tier for using the Sia network.

If you DO have a paid IPFS subscription, you will be billed at $0.0059 per GB for both data storage and bandwidth for any data stored in a Sia bucket. No storage or bandwidth is included, and everything is billed by the GB.

If you DO NOT have a paid IPFS subscription, Sia usage is billed at a base monthly subscription of $5.99, which includes the first 1 TB of data storage and bandwidth. Storage and bandwidth over the first 1 TB are billed at $0.0059 per GB for both data storage and bandwidth.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Pricing is cheaper than piñata. 3x copies replicated makes me feel safe. Performance for IPFS gateways is lightening fast. Image resizing is really cool. I replaced cloud flare and used their bundled cdn instead - saved me hundreds.
  • Seemed a promising distributed storage with multiple storage options for a good price at the beginning of usage.
  • Good documentation. Good discord support. Good storage/bandwidth price. Free edge caching service. No fees for ingress or API requests.
  • I like easy of use, good documentation and very fast support team. I believe I found great solution for my project and hope for long term relationship.

Cons

  • None so far - haven’t seen any performance issues or downtime over the last 6 months.
  • Bad support, some of my requests were ignored. Bad safety, your data can be lost at any time.
  • No volume discounts to bandwidth. No CDN service(but easy to integrate with CDN services like bunny).
  • For now, my use case was not good to find any cons :-)

  • Pricing is very reasonable, it's reliable and there's rarely ever any downtime on the platform which is huge.

Cons

  • It worked great for me. Best cost-effective cloud storage.
  • (-) Lifetime costing is not good. (-) Downloading data from Google Cloud Storage is costly. (-) Pricing is high compared to its competitors. (-) The pricing scheme is a bit complex.
  • It gives very limited storage space on their initial plans.
  • You'd need a developer to set it up as it's technical to do.
