Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • was cheap before they recently raised their prices. Can send secure emails to outside the organization with secure links to files
  • Several billings with reasonable cost. Can choose various order service with different service options.
  • Reasonable cost. Works well. Secure email server. Have had this service for over a dozen years.
  • Enguard's customer support is really quite fast. The service performs it's job well. We primarily used it to allow employees to send encrypted emails and large file attachments. These services worked fine.
  • At one time, users were able to email the company for customer support. And our tech support team was able to integrate their software easily into our websites.

Cons

  • technical support is not open. Even when it is open, they do not answer the phone and say all their reps are busy.
  • Suggested to someone need regular secure systems for email and other domains.
  • I don’t have any negative things to say about this.
  • When moving away from Enguard, we found that the Control Panel does not allow an administrator to bulk-delete accounts. I submitted a ticket asking that accounts be deleted and was denied. I called and requested and was denied. I called and requested that it be escalated to a manager. Denied. Every request was denied because Enguard did not want the liability of deleting accounts. That's hard to understand, because I made the request in writing. I even suggested that I could send in documentation on company letterhead with an executive signature. Still denied. Why is this important? Enguard's control only allows you to delete users one-at-a-time. You have to click on the user and wait for the user's page to load. Click delete. Click "Ok" to delete. Wait for the delete and the load back to the accounts screen. Considering this was going take 15 seconds per user it would take us 4 hours to delete users at 100% efficiency. I let them know that I would be posting feedback accordingly here and that I would suggest that they discuss my request with an owner. My request was again denied. Later that day I received an e-mail back from support stating that they would actually fulfill my request with written consent releasing Enguard from liability for such an act. Unfortunately, I was already finished when I read the email. Enguard was unable to delete 870 accounts.
  • As you can see from their website, they no longer offer email support. This is not only ironic, but seriously slows down communication. In the short time they've been in business they've changed their company name three times. (Yes, three!) Each time required new servers to be integrated into our websites (time/money).

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Secure, easy to use - good clean interface. Ability to add a custom domain. Privacy and end to end encryption.
  • Tutanota is a privacy based email system. Free accounts come with 1gb, the largest of any comparable free service. Emails can be set with a password and be temporary. Also included is a contacts service and calendar service all in one.
  • Tutanota allows you to keep your emails more private by encrypting them, along with a password you can give to the person you're sending the email to. You can choose whether you want to send an encrypted email or not. Tutanota can be access via browser, desktop, or mobile. It comes with a light and a dark theme. You can have several aliases if you pay. Multiple plan options are available.

Cons

  • Non Existent Customer Support. No way to contact the company is given on their website - Just FAQ's that I do need the answers to.
  • The web app works way better than the mobile device app. Con mobile, I cant even print an email or save it as a pdf. Free accounts can only use 1 color for labeling.
  • Mobile apps needs work. It just doesn't run as smoothly as other email apps. You have to download each file you receive individually no matter what way you access your mail. I don't see why I can have an option to download all files at once. Since it's new and more secure, you'll find many services won't accept it as a valid email either. There's a lot of issues around aliases once you pass the 5 you get from paying. The system definitely screws you over if you want to get rid of one. You may end up having to pay even more just to get more aliases and even though you already tossed one of them. This really shouldn't be at all and is ridiculous.
