School of Social Welfare researchers from the University of Kansas conducted a research study to evaluate ECAP's effectiveness for improving outcomes for children and families. Their pre/post study compared the results of placements that were made with ECAP to those made without. Below is a summary of the results of this study. The researchers also studied over 22,000 past placement records to identify how certain characteristics affect placement stability. ECAP’s algorithms were adjusted to reflect this new information and to make it even more effective. ​ FCT engages in ongoing research projects projects that continuously help us better understand the relationship between placement matching and better outcomes for children and families. We consult with domain experts from our Research Advisory Board, to constantly improve the way we use predictive analytics to help reduce trauma for children and families across the nation through the use of ECAP.
