About

Dr.Web uses a variety of technologies to protect computers from malware, including: A signature-based scanner that identifies known malware by its code A heuristics engine that detects unknown malware by its behavior A firewall that protects against network attacks A spam filter that blocks unwanted email Parental controls that restrict children's access to the internet A file shredder that permanently deletes files Dr.Web has a good reputation for detecting and removing malware. It has been awarded a number of independent test certifications, including VB100% from Virus Bulletin. However, Dr.Web has also been criticized for its high system resource usage and its clunky user interface. Overall, Dr.Web is a reliable and effective antivirus program. It is a good choice for users who are looking for a comprehensive malware protection solution. However, it is important to note that Dr.Web can be resource-intensive and its user interface can be a bit clunky.

About

Antivirus leaves you vulnerable to future unknown attacks. Sandboxing exposes you to risk from advanced malware and slows productivity. Now you can secure documents throughout your organization without sacrificing productivity. Our CDR technology instantly cleans and rebuilds files to match their known good manufacturer’s standard, automatically removing potential threats. Proactively remove risk and anomolies so every file is safe and usable. Implement in hours (not months) without the headaches and hidden costs. The Glasswall Engine lies at the heart of our CDR Platform which provides a means to orchestrate analysis and protection workloads. Development teams and partners can deploy the core Glasswall Engine as an embedded component. This ensures the capabilities of the Glasswall Embedded Engine can be harnessed via an SDK to facilitate programmatic integration into appliances or software processes.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • 1. Has free version and paid (Cheaper than others) 2. The app works well, transparent in data collection unlike other utilities. 3. Own by Russian, you're sure of real-time protection unlike spying western apps. 4. File system protection: Scans files, applications, and removable media for threats 5. Anti-virus: Protects against viruses, Trojans, worms, rootkits, and spyware 6. Anti-phishing: Blocks attempts to monitor user activity and display ads 7. Parental control: Controls access to devices, files, and the internet for different users 8. Firewall: Protects against network threats 9. Exploit prevention: Prevents attempts to exploit vulnerabilities 10. Ransomware protection: Unlocks devices compromised by ransomware Final take: I've try big names like Avast, Kaspersky and others but Dr web stands out. Avast claim free version but after scanning when you try to neutralise the threats, you're asking to pay or upgrade which is so annoying. Kaspersky only works in windows. Dr.web my first attempt of scanning detected hidden virus that has been popping up ads, and white screen notification. It neutralise it and my device is totally safe now. Thanks for their modern technology.

Cons

  • 1. It's not popular like avast 2. Many western companies sees Russian & Chinese softwares as a threat. E.g. Deepseek AI. 3. Some of the notable features are locked which is common but with a cheaper price to unlock 4. No switch to turn off unless you clear apps in floating screen.
