About

DevArmor is an application security platform built for modern engineering and security teams. Instead of scanning for vulnerabilities only after code is written, DevArmor works earlier in the process — automating threat modeling and embedding secure-by-design practices directly into how teams build software. This helps organizations identify architectural and design-level risks early, where they're cheapest and easiest to fix. DevArmor is designed to fit the way engineers already work, so security becomes part of the development lifecycle rather than a bottleneck at the end. It gives security teams visibility into design risk across their applications while empowering developers to make secure decisions without needing to be security experts. With growing coverage for modern stacks — including AI-powered components — DevArmor supports AppSec, DevSecOps, and shift-left initiatives across the software development lifecycle.

About

AppSec Policy as Code. Sevren programmatically consolidates all available development-environment data and uses this to provide visibility-into and automatic orchestration-of the SecDLC with a next generation ‘policy-as-code solution. AppSec Visibility at Scale. Without visibility, you have no data; without good data, good security decisions cannot be made - making intelligent-automation a non-starter. Severn enables and maintains scalable visibility into the development environment, in real time. Securely Support Business Goals. As development cycles shorten, from waterfall to short, agile sprints to continuous delivery/deployment the responsiveness of intelligent security decisions must also increase. In the modern development environment, failure to achieve intelligent-automation breaks either security or business outcomes. Audit Trail. Manually driven enforcement of AppSec policy is subject to the inconsistencies of human interpretation and error.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • DevArmor made threat modeling something our engineers actually do instead of avoid. Instead of a one-off exercise before a big release, it runs continuously as our architecture changes, so we catch design flaws while they're still cheap to fix. Setup was quicker than expected, and the fact that developers don't need to be security experts to use it has been huge for adoption on our team. The AI/agentic coverage was a deciding factor for us, it flagged trust-boundary and data-flow risks in our LLM features that our existing scanners completely missed.

Cons

  • There's a learning curve in the first couple of weeks as you tune it to your stack and get the team into the habit. We have a list of integrations that we would love to see in the product.
