Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I’ve been using Commander One for a while now, and I have to say, it’s a game-changer for managing files on my Mac. The dual-pane interface makes moving files around so easy—just drag and drop, and you’re done! Whether I’m handling local files or connecting to cloud services like Google Drive and Dropbox, everything’s right there in one place. I can quickly manage all my files without jumping between apps. The file compression tools are a nice bonus, and I love how customizable it is. I can set up hotkeys and even access system files with root access when needed. That’s perfect for more advanced tasks.
  • Dual-pane interface: Commander One offers a dual-pane view, allowing you to easily manage files and folders between two locations. Advanced file operations: It provides various advanced file operations, such as batch renaming, file compression, and file searching, which can improve productivity. Cloud storage integration: Commander One supports integration with popular cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, and Microsoft OneDrive, allowing you to manage cloud files alongside local files. FTP/SFTP client: It includes built-in support for FTP and SFTP connections, making it easy to manage files on remote servers. Customizable: The application is highly customizable, allowing you to configure the interface, shortcuts, and other settings to suit your preferences. File viewer: It includes a built-in file viewer for various file types, eliminating the need for external applications for viewing files. Archive support: Commander One supports a wide range of archive formats, including ZIP, RAR, 7ZIP, TAR, and others, making it easy to work with compressed files.
  • - The interface is user friendly. I can easily find what I'm looking for. - Switching between my connections is pretty simple. - Having a built-in terminal speeds up my SSH operations a lot. - Lots of functions available. - Simple to use and addictive. I can't even open my Mac's Terminal app anymore.
  • This does everything Finder can't do. Nice and tight interface, very logically laid out, lots of options but seriously, out of the box is ready to go just as it is. complete access and visibility to source and destination in one tidy layout.
  • - easy to use -self-explanatory -many functions - rich options to design view as you want! -lots of tutorials and help on how to use available

Cons

  • That said, the free version has its limits. To unlock cloud storage support and some other advanced features, I had to upgrade to the Pro version.
  • Mac-only: Commander One is only available for macOS, so if you need a similar tool for other operating systems, you'll have to look elsewhere. Learning curve: The application has a bit of a learning curve, especially for users unfamiliar with dual-pane file managers or advanced file operations. Price: While Commander One offers a free version with limited features, some advanced features require purchasing the Pro version, which may be a downside for users looking for a completely free solution.
  • I've only seen one negative thing so far: Sometimes files over SSH are not refreshed in file explorer. I may have to exit the folder and re-enter. I hope this question will be resolved in a new update.
  • Cannot find any con's to this at all. I keep getting positive surprises the more I work with this.
  • I would like like in Windows: Cut - Button, otherwise everything is fine.
