CodePorting.Native Cs2Cpp is a C# to C++ source code porting framework, best suited for organizations who are keeping their source code in C#. If you want to release the same version of your application with C++ source code to cover more platforms, CodePorting.Native Cs2Cpp is for you. It can simplify & automate the source code conversion process, allowing you to publish apps on additional platforms with every new release. Available as a command line tool as well as with a GUI, Cs2Cpp Porter reproduces the internal classes and routines in the same way as they are implemented in the original C# code. Once the code is successfully ported from C# to C++, the code can be built for any of the supported target platforms.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I have used Visual Studio Code mainly for automation scripting and day to day code updates and I like that it is lightweight, easy to navigate, and supports useful extensions. It makes it convenient to manage scripts, terminal commands and quick debugging in one place
  • Lightweight and very fast Excellent extensions for HTML, CSS, JSON, schema, Markdown Makes debugging tracking scripts much easier Powerful search across folders and files Free and works smoothly even on low systems
  • Linux, macOS, and Windows are among the operating systems that Visual Studio Code (VS Code) is compatible with. Its cross-platform compatibility makes it a flexible option for developers working in various contexts.
  • 1. It has an excellent set of tools for debugging and testing the code. 2. It can be customized heavily from the settings or from the configuration files. 3. Furthermore, it has a lot of extensions available on the extension store to increase the features and functionality of the code editor. 4. It supports all the major programming languages and frameworks. 5. It is extremely light on the system.
  • Best free IDE that i have used so far. It is very light weight in terms of memory utilisation and works smooth on my Mac Book PRO. I really like the window splitting feature and renaming my terminal tabs. I can run my different environments in different named tabs.

Cons

  • One issue I have seen is that it can slow down a bit when too many extensions are installed or when the project becomes large
  • Slight learning curve if you’ve never seen code editors Too many extensions can become confusing Not beginner-friendly on day one without YouTube help
  • VS Code could be thought to be less efficient for really big projects when compared to more complex IDEs. Nevertheless, the size and complexity of any project will determine this.
  • It does not have dedicated build tools available on the options and to use that the user has to use command in the terminal.
  • Although the features are great, one feature that i really miss out on this IDE is the use of GIT. E.g. if it does not support a GUI to resolve merge conflicts. It is handy for updating the repo but not that flexible for resolving conflicts.
