About

BrightCert helps UK small and medium businesses get ready for Cyber Essentials certification without hiring a consultant first. Most SMEs don't know where they stand until they've already paid £2,000-5,000 for a gap analysis. BrightCert flips that: a free, 60-question, plain-English assessment across the five official Cyber Essentials control areas produces a scored, prioritised gap report in about two hours. The full report unlocks at £199. Built and run by a security researcher (MSc Cyber Security, EC-Council certified), BrightCert is UK-specific end to end — UK pricing, UK terminology, and an honest scope: it prepares businesses for certification, it doesn't issue the certificate itself (that comes from an IASME-licensed Certification Body). BrightCert is being built for the Google "Build with Gemini" XPRIZE hackathon, using Gemini to analyse assessment responses and generate the readiness report.

About

MetaCert’s Zero Trust browser software reduces the risk of organizations being compromised with a phishing-led cyberattack by more than 98%. Blocking dangerous URLs and dangerous websites is important, but it’s not enough. Every leading security company with a “threat intelligence system” is focused on detecting and blocking known malicious URLs. Like other companies, MetaCert owns a database of malicious URLs. When a dangerous link gets through existing security solutions, you are left to use your intuition, you must guess which links are safe and which websites you can trust. However, even organizations that implement security solutions from multiple vendors are still exposed with this legacy approach. We use the best of modern URL classification technology that we built internally, to tell you which links are safe, and which websites you can actually trust. With millions of URLs verified as safe, our software reduces the risk of all cyberattacks that start with dangerous URLs.
