Authy works seamlessly to provide comprehensive protection across multiple accounts, Authy is very different from other two-step authentication platforms, as its authentication service is available for computers, with MacOS or Windows OS, this is fantastic as almost no 2FA platform has an availability for computers. The desktop app works great and I use this app to access all my accounts when I am at my computer; the mobile app I use for when I am out of my office, I can access all my accounts with the same linked Authy account on multiple devices. I liked the unique way I can regain access to my Authy passwords, by simply linking a phone number to my Authy account, I can receive a temporary code to use my Authy account on another device, no matter how much time has passed since I lost access to my passwords, I can still retrieve them with my phone number. Authy also allows you to organize and add a default name to each folder you have created to organize your accounts, you can create separate folders for each of the accounts you register, to have an order.
Authy is a platform that I really liked mainly because it has improved the security of each of the accounts that I use in my company, one of the first things that I love about this platform is the availability that it has on various devices, since currently this platform is available both for iOS devices, android devices and also for computers, its availability for computers is amazing as I can have access to two step security using my computer, this feature and availability is not available by almost any authentication system two steps. Also, not only do I like the availability for computers, but also the security that you have in this application for computers, since you have to assign a five-digit pin to lock that two-step security, this way whenever you want your computer you will have to enter that password to access all registered accounts, so you will avoid the use of this platform by any unauthorized person. Another thing that I liked about this platform is how easy it is to register a new account, you can register it using a QR code but you can also use a five-digit code to register this account, the registration process of new account quite simple, and as soon as you register me you can activate that two-step security and start receiving temporary codes.
My favorite part is the responsiveness. The worst aspects of 2fa is how long they usually take. This one is fast, easy and good to go.
Authy is a service that has been tailored to offer us constant security for each of the accounts used for our entire company. The main reason why we started using this software was because it offered us a very good service to cover the security of several accounts simultaneously, and really, it gives us constant security for all our accounts. Next, I will mention the positive things that this platform has. 1.- one of the main positive things about this platform is regarding its version for computers, there are currently many applications that are only available for mobile devices, but this is not the case, this platform is available for both computers and for mobile devices, it is important to highlight that the version for computers works wonderfully, it has an interface similar to the version for mobile devices, in addition, the difference between both versions is that the version for computers has a security key to be able to access the accounts. Within the application for phones, there is no such key, it is important that this is present in the version for computers since many people constantly access my computer, and it is important for me to protect access to each of my accounts with a password to which only I have access. 2.- Another of the things that I like about this application is the ease with which you can recover the password from another cell phone to another device. With blue operate a door within this platform, you will be able to save all the accounts, when you walk devices you only have to log in to the corresponding account, you will not have access to all the previously saved keys. If you only want to transfer the security of the steps of several accounts thanks Device number, you only have to generate a code in the original application, and then use that code in the other device, all the accounts associated with security will be transferred immediately, but if you want to use the other step, you can link the Authy account to have access to your keys. 3.- Third thing that I like about this platform is that the codes in degrees for each of the linked accounts are quite effective with respect to the time they last, noted that each code tomorrow does not have a duration of 15 seconds, I consider that this time is completely beneficial to be able to write down the code by this mind and access the corresponding account, previously used other security software of the steps that only offer me five or 10 seconds to write down the code, it provides more time to write down the code calmly. 4.- The fourth thing that I loved about this application is that I did not set any type of limit when it came to linking new doors within it. I can link up to more than 10 accounts simultaneously, to access them with two-step security, this application allows me to link up to more than 10 accounts with no problem, currently there is no type of limit on the number of accounts that can get back into Authy, this is great. 5.- The last thing that left me quite positively impacted about this platform is how easy it is to use and how easy it is to adapt to it, when you use it for the first time, you will have access to each of the steps to follow , the application helps the user to adapt to the general interface. The app has built-in instructions for users, these instructions help the user understand how to register a new account within this app to protect it with two-step security, these instructions are great for new users.
Authy is an amazing piece of software that helps you have two step security for any type of account you want to link, the way this platform provides instant security to all types of accounts is amazing, plus there is no type of limit when you want to link multiple accounts. One of the main positive things that this platform has is that you do not have to create any type of account to use it, when using this platform on a device, and linking several accounts to it, a Token will be generated, that Token will be used so that you can transfer the accounts registered in 2FA to any other device. Using this function is quite beneficial for any user, since if at any time your mobile device is damaged and you have this code saved, you can insert the code in any other device and have access to the security of the steps of the accounts that you have previously linked. Another of the characteristics that I like about this platform is the availability that it has when it comes to working on any device or operating system, I have noticed that it is also available for both Linux operating systems and macOS and Windows operating systems, this helps You can use step security on any of your accounts without having a mobile device. I love how easy it is to use this platform and also how easy it is to link a new account to it, linked to being 10+ accounts for security the steps and it has been a smooth process every time.
Cons
I haven't encountered any problems since I started using Authy. The platform in general is quite easy to use, anyone who starts using Authy to protect their accounts, will be able to use it normally no matter if they have used this platform before, Authy is a very easy to use service, linking new accounts for 2FA security is completely simple, which helps new users to have no problems using this platform.
Currently I have not had any type of problem with this two-step authentication platform, at all times I have been able to obtain a quite positive benefit, in addition, this platform has been easy to use, at all times I have been able to register new accounts within this authentication of two steps, and I have always been able to access all these accounts, since it has an excellent user recovery system which requests a phrase to recover the account, that phrase is created when you first register on the platform. I am very happy with the fact that this platform has never given me any type of problem, since in this way I have been able to keep all my personal and work accounts completely secure, the two-step dedication has never been violated within my company Since I have registered the company's telephone number to recover these keys, every time I need to recover access to my account, I must place the phrase that registers with, and receives a code on my phone, it is a very simple recovery process and helps ensure that I never lose access to the registered keys.
I don't have anything about this software that I don't like.
Authy has become that main platform to get a security of steps to each of our goals, however, we do not have a few negative things about this application, we consider that these negative things do not change our opinion about this platform, we still consider it to be an application with a lot of potential and very beneficial. I will mention them below. 1.- One of the main negative things about this application is the design of its interface. Despite how busy I am, but mind you, the interface helps you to quickly access the functions of this application here, I consider that this application should have a much more optimal design within the interface, currently the design it has is quite simple, it is a fairly basic design that catches the attention of users. It would be excellent to be able to modify the design depending on the taste of each user, this would help the user to choose the design they want for their interface within the security of the steps. 2.- Another of the negative things that this platform has is that there is no type of access history that allows you to view all the logins that have occurred for a specific account. This login history would help a lot as sometimes people close to me access my mobile phone, and having a login history would help me feel more confident that no one has used my Authy app to access my accounts. This application can be used by anyone who has access to my mobile phone, it would be great to be able to view the login history to know exactly if they have accessed my accounts without my authorization.
One of the main problems that presides over this platform is the lack of availability when it comes to customizing the interface of the platform or the way in which you can view the registered accounts, within this platform all the registered accounts are shown in the form of list, And really this way of seeing all the registered accounts is not at all uncomfortable, however, it would be perfect if the user could modify the way in which he visualizes or organizes all the registered accounts, since this would give the user more freedom to modify its general interface within the platform and have a much more comfortable display. Another of the negative things that this platform has is the amount of time available to register a new code within an account, that means that every time you generate an automated code within one of the registered accounts, you will have to quickly write it down in the account you want to access, since a code will be generated automatically and you will lose the previous code, the approximate time to write it down is 10 seconds, it seems to me that it is a fairly limited time.
Pros & Cons from Real Users
Pros
The availability of Microsoft Authenticator and the compatibility it has with any type of mobile device is one of the features that makes it one of the best options to consider when looking for two-step authentication software, Microsoft Authenticator is available for both devices iOS as for Android devices, therefore, there will never be a compatibility limitation between this platform and mobile devices. Microsoft Authenticator allows you to link any type of two-step authentication account, it does not have any kind of limit on the number of accounts you can link to this application, which will be very effective to protect several accounts at the same time, you can link up to more than 20 or 30 accounts within this app for two-step notification. Microsoft Authenticator has a fairly basic general design, but I find that this design is quite comfortable and allows users to easily adapt to the platform, and that it does not present any type of confusion, in addition, you can import or export your keys from one mobile phone to another just by using a file, you can export that file with all the keys saved to import it into the new device, to be able to have your keys on any device in just a couple of seconds.
The main features I like about Microsoft Authenticator were: 1- I liked that Microsoft Authenticator allows me to link accounts in an unlimited way, this platform that allows linking up to more than 50 accounts within this application, which helps me a lot since I can heal my accounts that I use for my business area and also I can link accounts that I use for my personal area, this platform has no limits when it comes to linking all types of accounts, in addition, you can completely organize each of the linked accounts for two-step security. 2- I also liked the ease with which I can link the two-step security on my mobile device, since this platform allows me to scan a QR code but also allows me to add a new account using a temporary code, I have that code in the account to which I want to place the two-step security. 3- I liked that this platform was able to associate all registered accounts with my Microsoft account, so the next time I link my Microsoft account on another mobile device and download the Microsoft Authenticator application, all my accounts linked on the old device, they can be used on my new device. This feature is very important to me, since on some occasions I have changed my mobile device, and I have been able to access all my accounts registered in Microsoft Authenticator just by linking my Microsoft account. 4- I love the fact that this platform is completely free, there is no fee to pay to be able to link as many accounts as you want, plus there is no additional fee to pay for deleting, adding or modifying an account you have added. to Microsoft Authenticator. I love the fact that this platform is completely free, since it is implemented in the vast majority of sectors of our company in this way, and most employees use it to protect all their accounts with two-step security.
Microsoft Authenticator is an excellent service to protect all the accounts that you use for personal or work use, the main thing that I like about this platform is that it has an excellent synchronization with your Microsoft account, so if in any time or for any circumstance you have access to your mobile device and you cannot access the Key registered within Microsoft Authenticator, you can retrieve all those keys and register them on another mobile device just by having access to your Microsoft account. Synchronization with your Microsoft account is a very positive feature as it protects you from any loss of accounts or keys stored within Microsoft Authenticator. Another thing that I like about this platform is its availability, it is available for all types of operating systems within mobile devices, as well as you can download it within your computer if you do not want to use your mobile device for two-step authentication, In addition, it has an encryption key that allows you to block access to the application within your computer, so if you use a computer that is used by several people at the same time, you can activate this lock within your Microsoft Authenticator keys, to protect any unwanted access. Every time you go to enter any of your accounts and have a Microsoft Auth registration key on your computer, you must use the lock key.
Microsoft Authenticator is considered by me and the vast majority of our employees to be one of the main ways to log in to all of our accounts, we have multiple accounts synced with this app, and accessing each of them is pretty easy because we can get codes really fast, one of the things I liked most about this software was the following: - Microsoft Authenticator has a password storage system, in this way, each of the accounts that are registered within this application will be stored in the Microsoft cloud and I will be able to access them as long as I use the same Microsoft account. This feature is one of the most beneficial for us and for any user because it helps to keep the accounts registered, you can change your mobile device and log in to your Microsoft account, this way you will have all the accounts registered immediately. - I love Microsoft Authenticator because it offers a quite renewed design, the design of this application is similar to the Outlook inbox, so it's a fairly familiar design and it's easy for me to handle it. I must also highlight that the general design of the interface that this application has provided me has helped me maintain comfort while using it. - I love that this app doesn't break the general storage of my mobile device, I currently own two mobile devices, one with iOS operating system and one with André, on both devices I have the Microsoft Authenticator app installed, and I must admit that the app is quite light, when downloading it in the store the process is quite fast, and it does not affect the general performance of the mobile device at any time. - All the keys generated by Microsoft Authenticator work wonderfully, at no time have I presented any error when writing one of the keys generated by this application, I have always been able to access my accounts instantly.
Some believe authenticator apps are all the same, but that is not the case, in my opinion. Using the Microsoft Authenticator app is easy and helps you recover your account (via automatic backup) when switching to another device. Passwordless login is another handy feature, but I don't use it often (only when I have my phone out of sight of prying eyes) because it's hazardous. I have not yet had the chance to try password management since I use another well-known app.
Cons
The serious problem that I have presented within Microsoft Authenticator is when I recover my keys when I have lost access to Microsoft Authenticator on the previous mobile device, Microsoft Authenticator does not allow me to recover the keys how to use your Microsoft account, this is quite negative since I have linked my Microsoft account on the new device in the hopes that I could regain access to my keys, but that did not happen, I lost all the two-step security keys that I had on the old device and there is no way to recover them with the help of my Microsoft account.
One of the main features I didn't like about Microsoft Authenticator were: 1- The main disadvantage that I have found of Microsoft Authenticator is that currently it is impossible to import the keys that you have linked in other two-step authentication platforms, for example, if you have an account registered in applications such as Google Authenticator or Authy, and you want to Transfer those accounts registered to the Microsoft Authenticator app, this is currently not possible, in order to use two-step authentication of those accounts in this app, you will have to add them manually and individually, which can be a rather annoying process. 2- Although you can organize each of the registered accounts and position them differently, currently it is not possible to save each of these accounts in different folders, for example, if you want to save the social media accounts in a different folder than the others, it is not possible, using the folder service within this platform would be very useful, since I could find in a much easier way the account that I want to access, if I want to access my email account, power selections Enter the email folder in Microsoft Authenticator and request the corresponding two-step code. 3- Microsoft Authenticator support is almost non-existent, so if you have any type of requirement about the security of the steps of this application, you will have to wait a long time for Microsoft support to answer your question.
One of the main things that can be improved within this platform is the duration time of each of the two-step codes that are generated within the platform, the generated codes last approximately 10 seconds, for which, on some occasions that time is not enough for users to insert that code within the platform they are trying to access, for example, when I access Gmail and I need to receive that code within Microsoft Authenticator, sometimes it does not give me the exact time to enter that code which causes a new code to be automatically generated. Another of the things that have to be improved within this platform is the fact of being able to organize the key registered within Microsoft Authenticator, within this application I have registered up to more than 10 accounts simultaneously, and sometimes it is a bit difficult find a specific account within Microsoft Authenticator, so it would be great to be able to split these registered accounts into folders or lists, this way I can split the two-step security for my social media account or some other platform accounts, it's very necessary than simply a system to divide the registered accounts, this would greatly facilitate access to them.
To be honest, I have not presented any type of failure with this two-step authentication system, I started using it because I have a Microsoft account, and I found it interesting to use this platform to receive a two-step authentication code. Steps. Its general operation has always been positive, at no time has it presented failures in the generation of codes or in the linking of accounts within the platform, in addition, it should be noted that Microsoft support is always attentive to answer all kinds of questions. of the user, so that is another positive point and it helps users to adapt and understand the platform.
When a user has many accounts (applications or websites) on the application, whose list is quite long (as in my case), to find help in searching and to save time, I would appreciate it if they implemented a search or filter function. Finding what you're looking for would be faster if you could search instead.
