About

You need a safe, intuitive way to store and manage your crypto on the go. With Arculus' air-gapped cryptocurrency hardware wallet, your private keys sit securely in your pocket, completely inaccessible to anyone but you. Is your crypto as secure as possible? Arculus is a cold storage hardware wallet protected by 3-factor authentication: our security relies on something you are, something you know, and something you have to keep your digital assets safe. With superior security capabilities, the Arculus Wallet™ App is only accessible on your mobile device with your unique biometrics, keeping your crypto safe. Input your private 6-digit PIN when prompted by the Arculus Wallet™ App for the second step in the authentication process. Tap the card to the back of your smartphone to complete the 3-factor authentication process. Now you can securely buy, swap, send, and receive cryptocurrency with Arculus.

About

100% air-gapped QR code solution Cold wallet. First hardware wallet Integrated with MetaMask Mobile. By using QR code transmissions, we have eliminated potential malware infiltration risks and delivered a level of transparency that just isn't possible with Bluetooth or USB. A proprietary bank-grade Secure Element ensures your private keys never leave the Keystone. The Secure Element generates a true random number for your private keys and is vital to ensuring your crypto assets are stored in the safest way possible. Our BIP32, BIP39, and BIP44 compliant firmware is also open source. Keystone has pioneered the hardware wallet industry’s first open source Secure Element firmware. It allows you to see how private keys are derived from physically generated entropy (TRNG) and stay entirely confined within the Secure Element. Our hardware wallet application layer, device schematic (circuit diagram), and bill of materials (BOM) are also open source.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • The concept is good, Setup was simple to follow and complete. The app is layout is the cleanest I’ve seen on my iPhone, easy to navigate. Card works just as advertised for NFC use, worked with my hardened case cover. The card is metal, solid and easy to carry after all most people carry several cards with them.

Cons

  • Buy option only works from the main task bar, it’s actually called “swap” not buy that’s a bit confusing You select “Swap” from the “task bar” and it sets the “from” to “USD” you then set the coin you want and then the card payment page shows up! Not intuitive If your just starting out in crypto and aren’t ready to put large amounts of money into it you will be disappointed as it won’t let you transfer less than $200 worth from one of the very few crypto it supports to another. I transferred $100 tether from a hot wallet then tried to move it to Bitcoin but it said the minimum to transfer was $200, the following day it says $500) Their website even states you have to buy a new card if a new card version releases with more features. It’s not technically a cold storage wallet as the app uses NFC. According to NIST definition data transfer must be manual. If you want to know how a crypto coin performing you gotta look elsewhere, no charts. One last concern is it just stores the private/public keys on the card, A competitor states they keep coin and keys offline.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Metamask is by far the best option for DeFi but hot wallets are very risky by nature. Luckily there are several hardware wallet options for Metamask PC/Mac (Trezor and Ledger being the most popular). However, neither of those 2 companies work with Metamask mobile. This is where Keystone shines. Now you have the ability to use Metamask on the go but keep your DeFi assets safely protected by the Keystone hardware wallet. Integration with Metamask is excellent and now I am safe knowing my Metamask wallet won't be hacked.
  • 1. Great customer support with quick responses 2. Only hardware wallet got integrated with MetaMask Mobile 3. Heard that they have developed in the community more than 5 years, quite a promising brand
  • 1. The QR code is a great way to make sure that the Keystone wallet is not connected to the internet. 2. Confirming the recovery phrase is one of a kind experience, way much better than other hardware wallets I used before. 3. Open-source nature of their Secure Element makes me feel safe when I create a new wallet.
  • 100% Air gapped, Fully integrated with MetaMask, The only hardware wallet supported by MetaMask mobile. The 4-inch screen makes it very user friendly and make the transaction more transparent. Solved blind-signing. Support are very reactive.

Cons

  • The battery system needs to be upgraded.
  • 1. Doesn't have enough coin support yet, hope to see Doge in the list
  • The number of coins they support is limited right now, but it seems that they have been integrating with many soft wallets on various chains in the past few months.
  • Company app doesn't support swap, the team believe the future of blockchain is a multi-chain one, therefore, the team is aiming at become the extra security layer of all the popular software wallets.
