About
Apache Ossie is an open specification and converter toolkit for exchanging semantic metadata across analytics, business intelligence, and AI systems. Its YAML-based format describes semantic models, datasets, fields, metrics, dimensions, relationships, and SQL expressions in a portable structure. Data and analytics engineers can use compatible implementations to author, translate, and reuse these definitions across connected platforms, supporting consistent business context for reporting and AI-assisted analysis. The project is an open-source community effort under the Apache License 2.0, with available conversions depending on each platform’s implementation.

About
Cube is an AI-powered business intelligence and semantic layer platform that helps organizations access, analyze, and govern business data across applications and AI agents. The software connects to data warehouses, databases, and other data sources to create a centralized semantic model containing standardized metrics, dimensions, relationships, and business definitions. Its AI-powered analytics capabilities allow users to ask questions in natural language, generate reports, build dashboards, and explore data without writing complex SQL queries. Cube provides Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that enable AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor to retrieve governed business information and perform analytical tasks. Its query acceleration engine uses caching and pre-aggregations to improve analytics performance while maintaining consistent data access controls.
