About

Initially all tests for Apache Ant tasks were written as individual JUnit test cases. Pretty soon it was clear that most tests needed to perform common tasks like reading a build file, initializing a project instance with it and executing a target. At this point BuildFileTest was invented, a base class for almost all task test cases. BuildFileTest works fine and in fact has been picked up by the Ant-Contrib Project and others as well. This approach has a couple of advantages, one of them is that it is very easy to translate an example build file from a bug report into a test case. If you ask a user for a testcase for a given bug in Ant, he now doesn't need to understand JUnit or how to fit a test into Ant's existing tests any more. AntUnit takes this approach to testing even further, it removes JUnit completely and it comes with a set of predefined <assert> tasks in order to reuse common kind of checks.

About

Tuskr is a cloud test management platform for teams. It brings test case creation, planning, execution, issue tracking, reporting, and collaboration into one workspace, reducing reliance on spreadsheets. Teams can build test cases with rich text, tables, images, custom fields, and spreadsheet imports while managing manual and automated testing together. Test Plans simplify recurring work by grouping Test Runs and reusing setups. Tuskr AI helps create and update test cases, make bulk changes, build targeted runs, analyze trends, and generate charts. Dashboards, burndown charts, metrics, and PDF reports provide visibility. Issues can be created, assigned prioritized, tracked, and linked to failed tests. Integrations, REST API, webhooks, Zapier, and Make connect Tuskr with development tools. Security includes audit trails, 2FA, SSO, role-based access, and version history. A free plan supports five users, with a 15-day trial for paid plans.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • With tuskr, you get great features. We like writing our test cases in spreadsheets instead of writing them in the software itself. With tuskr we can do it seamlessly with their spreadsheet import functionality. We also like their UI. It's clean and easy. Last but not the least is their pricing. It's a deal!
  • Tuskr has lots of features but still looks simple and easy to use. Some of the things we like are 1) rich-text editor with the ability to attach images for each step 2) Excel import functionality 3) variety of custom fields We also love their fully customisable integrations. We have tuned our JIRA integration which we were unable to do so in another product (expensive one!!) that we used earlier. Their pricing is also perfect. I never understood why a test case management tool should cost above 30 USD! At 5 USD per user, Tuskr is perfect.
  • The software has a comprehensive feature set and is straightforward. Most of our team did not require any training and for those who did, we could train them in less than an hour. Price is another big plus.
  • - Easy to use and intuitive - Feature-rich without unnecessary bloat - Inexpensive - it is priced well below the competition

Cons

  • We would have liked integrated bug tracking. We have to use a different tool but maybe the software developers would not switch from JIRA anyway. I think their bug tracking integration could have been better.
  • They don't have a dark mode but their support tells me that it is coming soon. Would have also liked exporting test results so that we can show them to our client. I have reported this and they have assured me that it is coming soon too.
  • Nothing at this price point. We got everything we wanted. It would have been helpful if there were a few training videos.
  • - No advanced and cross-project reporting. - No inbuilt bug tracking
