Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Integrates well with my IDE (VS Code), can scan my repo, understands context, i can undo any changes it has made with one click, can build a full app from scratch with my prompts and directions.

Cons

  • NO CLI capability yet which I think this is where Claude Code excels better. I think the Amazon team should find a way to integrate the CLI feature into Amazon Q.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Factory Droid feels like a serious coding agent because it is built to do more than autocomplete. It can take a natural-language task, plan the work, edit code, run tests, and help move changes toward shipping. I like that it works across the terminal, IDE, and cloud. That makes it flexible for different workflows, whether I want to stay local, use VS Code context, or pick up a session from the browser. The support for approvals, model switching, MCPs, skills, and AGENTS.md instructions is also a big plus. It feels designed for real engineering teams that need control, project context, and repeatable workflows.

Cons

  • I would still review everything carefully. Any agent that can edit code, run commands, and work across a repo needs tests, diffs, and human oversight.
