  • Great tool
  • What a function Zint is :-) support is amazing also.
  • Please add custom Y- dimension and font changing option in the next edition.
  • Awesome, spectacular and every other superlative imaginable! I have literally searched for two days looking for this exact capability. Even read the readme file. Non programmer type on windows 11....worked flawlessly and doesn't require the internet!!!! We are using it to secure sensitive data and the last thing we wanted is to have data sent out into the wild! Thank You
  • Saved me a lot of trouble and I'm very grateful for it. I had to make a lot of QR Codes on demand several times so I'm glad to have this just on my desktop.
  • I have used this tool multiple times before in the past and it is absolutely stunning that this high-quality software is available to all of us for free! AMAZING WORK! THANK YOU SO MUCH! HAPPY 2022!!
  • Thank you - we cannot live without this tool; it's absolutely essential. Only suggestion would be a 64 bit build (just for the house keeping really) and the return of a Windows installer :,-( Thanks again.
  • I love the simple approach: very light weight with only 84 KB (not 84 MB!) for the binary + 2.1 MB for the library = 2.2 MB in total. So usefull, fast, efficient, clean and flexible. I really love the (Linux / Other*nix) command line - thank you all, developpers and maintainers! Ease: * * * * - yes, we have to learn and understand something before use (and scripting!) Features: * * * * * - everything imaginable on board Design: * * * * * - I rate the software design, not an obviously unavailable colorful, bloated point-and-click GUi Support: * * * * * - honestly I cannot rate this, as I didn't need it. This is great - thus 5 * * * * * :)
  • Thank you very much for the free open source program!
  • Use it every day multiple times. Great for instantly sharing Zoom meeting links from the PC to my phone.
  • The application is simple. However, this is not intuitive. To start, you must use qtZint.exe and not Zint.exe (win 10 *64). This may be misleading. You can use the barcode generator as a replacement for online services. However, it is inconvenient to choose from the list constantly. I use the EAN and ITF standard at the same time. It is not convenient for me to constantly switch them in a large list and a narrow window. It’s a pity you can’t turn off unused standards. It does not work to open 2 copies of the application at the same time and use them. Both copies will remember one last closed result. (Sorry, google translate)
  • Worked well for my admittedly basic needs. Small caveats: The GUI offers no control at all over the human-readable text parameters, and the CLI offers only 'bold' and 'small' switches; better than nothing. The poor quality of text when outputting to bitmap formats was worrying at first, but thankfully there are vector output options, which make a huge difference to the readability of the text, especially when invoking the --bold parameter. The CLI took me several attempts to get right; Apparently the order of the parameters makes a difference. Hint: -i must be at the end of the string. Welcome additions to the GUI and CLI would be text formatting options (size, antialiasing, typeface, weight, position, in order of preference), as well as DPI settings for bitmap output. Those quibbles aside I'm very happy this project exists and my thanks go out to the devs. 🙏
  • I was able to build the GUI in macOS 10.14.6 and Qt 5.13.1. It just required slight modifications to the zint-2.6.5/CMakeLists.txt file. I added this line to point to the Qt installation directory: set(CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH $ENV{HOME}/Qt/5.13.0/clang_64) There's a typo, too - IF(NOT ZINT_HAS_BEEN_RUN_BEFORE and UNIVERAL) + IF(NOT ZINT_HAS_BEEN_RUN_BEFORE and UNIVERSAL) I just want to ask.. why sourceforge? This is just ugly for developers! Cheers!
  • Used this program multiple times, found it very useful even for domestic needs. Thanks to the developer.

Did you try the build instructions in /ms32/msvc6 to build the dll. Remember that there is no Windows dll distributed so I suppose, this comment is not placed at the correct project. Thank you, Harald
  • Great tool, easy to install and use. Dev team is very reactive.
  • That is a good Software, but the isn't UDI-Conform, because the human read line is missing at Codeblock-F and Datamatrix in the file.

Thank you for the feature request. The decision for this was taken due to the fact, that the interpretation should be split in multiple rows or placed far away from the symbol for 2D symbols. In consequence, the human readable should be generated by other means. The project does not claim to FDA (or IMDRF/EU) UDI conformity. Nevertheless, it may help to generate UDI codes.
  • I am able to generate barcodes and save them to PNGs using the GUI but unable to do it using the CLI. I am getting an error of "libpng warning: Application built with libpng-1.5.10 but running with 1.6.20" I have tried different versions of the program but with no luck. Any suggestions?

The issue is probably what it says: your system features another libpng library version than the one which was used to build zint. This is not a zint issue but a build issue. What is your platform ? Did you follow the build instructions? Are you aware of the extra build instructions for Windows? Hope this helps, Harald
  • Excellent and easy to use barcode generator. Helped me out on a lot of occasions in the library where I work.
  • Could be a possibility to add an option in the future to add a Little logo?

Thank you for the feature request. Please use tickets for this purpose. But I really think that this request is widely out of scope of zint. Sorry, Harald
  • Good project ! Thanks !
  • The project is really useful. But faced a problem that i cannot get the exact barcode number as text in return which will be printed on the barcode. There should be a return parameter where we get the exact barcode data(number) which zint generates on the final png file.

Thank you for the feature request. Please consider to fill a ticket with a concrete description. I suppose, this is a sensible feature. Others asked to name the file as the contents, which is a similar request.
  • Very complete and universal bar code generator
