Zeromus Browser is a simple browser whose feature list includes things like "History", "Bookmarks" and "zLink", that is a page to see the most visited hosts.

It is small, less then 10,000 lines of code and very fast.

The SpringSun 2.0.0 update includes a new homepage, a new zLink page, new keyboard shortcuts, a new button to the download manager, a streamlined interface, and a major modification of the search engines.
The SpringSun 2.1.0 update use Qt 4.8.3 for more stability.
The 4.2 update include a better interface, a new logo, and a new homepage.
Then, the 4.3 update include an other new logo because we search what's Zeromus identity. ;-)

Note: Zeromus Browser is a fork of Arora.

User Reviews

  • It can't restore the last session, import bookmarks or choose the download location. It's basic functionality might be justified if it provided faster browsing in old hardware but it is not particularly light on system resources. The zBrowser executable takes a lot longer to load than iexplore and it can require 288 Mb of memory before you even start browsing. Pages do not load faster in zBrowser compared to Internet Explorer. I found that while writing a comment for a Youtube video with the video paused zBrowsers memory usage rocketed to 370 Mb and CPU usage was 100% making the program unresponsive and difficult to shut down with the Task Manager. This occured while testing it on my old laptop. QtWeb browser is a far more advanced open source browser based on the Qt framework and Webkit which really does offer performance gains on old hardware.
  • Awesome descendant of Arora with pretty new UI! Light & fast like fly, maybe speeddial better than zlink.
  • "If you're looking for a fresh Internet navigating solution, then you should definitely try zBrowser. This handy and reliable piece of software will make your web browsing experience fast and enjoyable." (http://www.softoxi.com/zbrowser.html)
