- CSS counters and generated content:
::beforeand::afterwithcontent(strings,counter(),counters(),attr()), andcounter-resetandcounter-increment. Headings can be numbered from the stylesheet,1.,1.1,1.2, and the numbers appear in the table of contents and the PDF outline as well. Fixes :issue:112. overflowandtext-overflow: a line wider than a block whoseoverflowis notvisibleis cut at the block's edge, andtext-overflow: ellipsisends it with "…". Withwhite-space: nowrapthis gives a one-line cell or block that ends in an ellipsis. The line used to run on past the block, over whatever came next. Fixes :issue:698.<pdf:insertpdf src="annex.pdf" pages="1-3"/>inserts the pages of an existing PDF where it is written, each in its own size. They are numbered and counted with the rest of the document, so<pdf:pagecount>and the table of contents include them. Fixes :issue:551.
🐛 Bug-Fixes
- A document that skips heading levels -- one that starts at
<h2>, or goes from<h1>to<h3>-- no longer repeats a heading in the PDF's outline for every level it skipped. Each entry goes under the nearest heading before it with a lower level, or at the top with none, as in a browser's document outline. - A document with a page background and
encryptwith an owner password only comes out unencrypted, as it always has: the background is merged in by writing the document again, which cannot reapply the encryption. That now logs a warning saying so, instead of happening silently. - A table inside a table cell goes on from page to page, starting where
its row starts and in print of its own size, as in a browser. It was
moved whole to the next page and shrunk to fit it, down to unreadable
text for a long one.
-pdf-keep-in-frame-modeon the cell still asks for the old behaviour. Fixes :issue:402. - An integer attribute whose value is not a number, such as
<ol start="abc">or<td colspan="x">, logs a warning and is ignored, as a browser does. It raisedValueErrorand the whole conversion failed. (:pr:851)

a failed document (:pr:851).
