XeDetect needs Python3.4 or later. The following packages must be installed: - PyQt5 - numpy - pickle - xlsxwriter One of the options to install numpy is to use Anaconda python3 ( https://www.continuum.io/downloads ), a comprehensive Python distribution including SciPy and many other packages. XeDetect is a GUI application so it needs PyQt5 to run. If you are Microsoft Windows user, just install PyQt5 ( https://riverbankcomputing.com/software/pyqt/download5 ) and run Launch.bat If you are Ubuntu user, first install Qt5. Detailed instructions are here: https://wiki.qt.io/Install_Qt_5_on_Ubuntu . Don't forget to install Qt5 dependencies (lib32stdc++6 lib32z1 lib32z1-dev). Then, install PyQt5. All options are available via GUI
