  • A good start, but a long way to go before it works like WordStar. Currently (v 0.3.409) doesn't correctly display an old WordStar 6 file. Also continually pops up error saying can't save file due to invalid filename, but I haven't even requested a file save! Perhaps an un-requested auto-save feature? And no information on how to disable that, if it is a 'feature'. I'll return in a few years to see if it's up-to-speed then! :-)

It should load and display Wordstar 6 just fine (except for unimplemented commands and formatting codes (not many)). Can you send me the file? The pop-up error is a bug if you open a file without one of the following extensions: .ws .ws3 .ws4 .ws5 .ws6 .ws7 .ws8 or .rtf Gerald
  • wow really terrific modernization! it looks beautiful and it's the exact kind of thing that appeals to wordstar users today - basically just using simple text without the emphasis on typesetting that most (actually ALL) word processors have today and all this with an eye towards generating a printed page. i see that not all the features have been implemented yet but it's fantastic that all those features are nonetheless still visible so we can see where you're heading. i have really high hopes for this! good luck!
