  • ridiculus... not work
  • This is not a port of the Unix utility. It lacks many of the features and is practically useless to anyone looking for "dd".
  • The Disk Utility also known as local Disk Management is a basic management tool used to perform disk-related tasks in your PC. The tasks includes, resizing partitions, extending or shrinking system partition, deleting, creating, and formatting partitions, etc. Such tasks are important to change the partition, formatting, etc, of your hard drive, but for that, first it's important to know how to access Disk Utility in Windows 7.
  • WinDD does not work with GPT partitioned drives.
  • It is not a port of UNIX dd at all! All this program can do is to copy ENTIRE disk to another raw disk. No possiblity to copy part, use image file etc.

  • There is no ability to read or write an image file -- you can only go from disk to disk. Moreover, there is no way to specify length -- the only thing you can do is select a source and destination disk.
  • Well, you should find out for yourself, but I'll stick to the command line version (like the one from chryosome.net), which is way more flexible.
  • This tool has nothing to do with the UNIX dd-command...
