This download contains the WikiWaCE software. It is an offline reader of Wikipedia.

Requirement:
------------
Software: Java v5 (or higher)
Hardware: 1GB RAM (recommended)

Installation:
-------------
-unzip WikiWaCE_[linux/mac/win]_[version].zip

Start:
------
-move to directory WikiWaCE_[linux/mac/win]_[version]
-start the associated program
	linux - WikiWaCE
	mac -	WikiWaCE.app
	win -	WikiWaCE.exe

Import a Wikipedia dump
-----------------------

download XML-Dump of Wikipedia
	-e.g. http://download.wikimedia.org/simplewiki/<dumpDate>/pages-articles.xml.bz2

Main menu/Extension
	-Import Wiki-XMLFile - imports an unzipped XML-Dump
	-Import Wiki-Bz2File (Slow) - imports a zipped XML-Dump

Usage
-----

Model view
	This view provides an alphabetical indexed view of the Wikipedia content. 
	Double click on a Page-Item (green dot) shows Wikipedia content.  
Search view (you have to create a full-text index, please see below)
	This view provides an full-text search of the Wikipedia content.
Category view (you have to create a category index, please see below)
	This view provides an categorical grouped view of the Wikipedia content.
	
Get pictures from Wikipedia online
	click context menu "get pictures ..." of a page, re-open page
	
Create full-text index

	-Update Full-text Index - creates/updates a full-text index of Wikipedia content

Create category index

	-Create Categories (slow) - creates a categorical index of Wikipedia
