WaoN is a Wave-to-Notes transcriber (converts audio file into midi file) and some utility tools such as gWaoN, graphical visualization of the spectra, and phase vocoder for time-stretching and pitch-shifting.
The program can be easily installed from source and indeed creates midi files from wav files. However, there is virtually no detailed information on how to optimize the sound recognition or how to use the graphical interface. I'm sure the capabilities of WaOn are great, but they must be explained (or understood by trial and error). Without documentation it is very difficult.
